How long is bud good for out of freezer?

Hi, if you dont freeze it, and just have it in a container, how long do you think it will last for?

Also how much shelf life would you get extra if you vacuum seal it?

Thanks
Shane

I have some well over a year old and its just fine. I am sure its degraded some but not noticeable yet.
Vacuum sealed I would expect 2 or 3 years. Without oxygen it wont degrade very fast.

You can ask multiple questions in the same thread. You don’t have to start a new topic for each question. Its actually better with a single thread so we can put all the info together and not ask you the same questions over and over.

It does have a better shelf life if u vacuum pack it and if u have ur weed in a dark cool spot out of the light it should last for a long time also depends on how much u have and how much u smoke too

I’ve found weed I hid from myself after months, close to a year. Only a little more dry because it was in a regular Ziploc. Smoked fine.

Vacuum seal in mason jar. Cool dark place. Moisture should stay close to the same it went in.

Now that’s funny… My wife cleaned our deep freezer out and came up stairs with a huge bud I stuffed in a zip lock . I’m guessing it was from over 5yrs ago. Smoked a bit and remembered why I saved it (special occasions) took a couple joints worth and put it back. Bet she’s mad next year when she finds it there again :joy::rofl::joy::rofl:

Main thing is keeping it out of light and temp no higher than 70F and 55-65 RH to maintain terpenes. You also want as little air of any as possible. Usually, the first thing to go is terpenes, then resin. Keeping sealed, dark, and cool will give you buds that last a year or two.
