A customer has a question and I hope we can get some opinions on it, thanks
“Hey, I have a question about my grow and I wanted to see if anyone can help me. I have a 300 w led full spectrum grow light and I cannot find a straight answer online as to how far the light should be from the plants. They’re on their 4th week in veg. I had been growing outside until recently and I had to bring them in the house because of weather issues. First grow so any info would be awesome. Only 2 plants.”
Generally a 300 watt LED light would need to be about 2 feet above the top of the plants!
Also depending on what light you bought it will come with a paper that tells you how high you should keep it over your plants for each phase of growth.
I have a Mars hydro 300w led actual draw 134 or 132 I forget, but due to my space issues my plants have barely had 2ft of clearance throughout there life’s and the only problem they had was when I put them under the 300w for the first time after starting under a 20w led. I’m on my first grow so for all I know all my buds will be bleached but just my opinion so far in my very early grow career
Yeah I have the galaxyhydro 300w full spectrum LED light. I would just follow the manufacturers instructions and keep the light at the suggested distance from the top of the canopy. That’s what I’ve done and I haven’t had any issues. If height is an issue you might have to change lights.
I still haven’t had any issues with it. I guess I’ll find out for real when my test grow Finishes n I see if I get bleached buds.
I’m pretty sure the recommended distance is 2 feet in veg and more like 18 in flower. So no bleaching your buds. They will not be happy!
I’m starting to get some light stress on my leaves… Might have to buy a CFL set-up…
Should of put up a scrog a couple weeks back when I was thinking I might need it… 
Raise the 300w as high as it’ll go just now… Hopefully it’ll be enough…
Maybe a picture of what you’re seeing? In natural light please.
Sometimes a 2nd or 3rd set of eyes is a good thing!
I don’t really think it’s happening yet, just think as the colas grow they will get closer n closer to the led :X
