How do you go about mosquito dunks?

I am writing to inquire about the proper usage of the product in controlling fungus gnats for my indoor plants. The product packaging indicates a lifespan of 30 days. I would like to know if it is appropriate to place the product directly on top of the soil and water it regularly, or if it is better to place it in the 5-gallon water containers used for watering the plants. Your expertise in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

So as soon as mosquito dunks or bits become wet they are activated. I would crush the dunks up a bit, mix with water, and water in with that. You can also top the medium with them. It’s a really safe product. It is a bacteria however, so I wouldn’t keep them in a nutrient solution. In the event you have to correct pH with pH down you could kill some of the beneficials.

If I see pests as a possibility I’ll even amend my medium with mosquito bits. I’ve gotten dunks, it’s the same thing but harder to use being in those rings. Better to get bits as it’s loose and goes further.

I always soak and apply. Remember ot takes a few days. Adults go. Then MAYBE a small birth of new adults. Then death to the larva and gone.

I have already purchased the dunks. I intend to utilize an old coffee grinder to break them up and scratch them into the soil. I will try the mosquito bits on my next purchase once the dunks are used up. Thank you for your assistance. I just needed to confirm before proceeding with the application of these. :slightly_smiling_face:

Just put the dunks in a bag and crush with a hammer, now you have the bits. Can till into top soil or water it in
