How can you visually or physically confirm a plant in your flower tent is seeded and needs to go?

Hi all!

Novice grower here!

Not upset in any way because I’ve been blessed with a bunch of unseeded, successful harvests in my learning so far… However, tonight, as I am making my way to the bigger buds on my Sweet Island Skunk x Barb Bud (I actually took a pic of the larfiest lower branch bud because I was proud of it as a noob:

)

I came across what looked to be dried up nanners (NOT in that pic, the bigger actual buds) - and lo and behold, I am concerned my last 2 plants in there finishing up beside it have been pollenated as a result

But I dunno what to look for, nor how to confirm without prematurely throwing the plants in the garbage and giving up on them?

A lot of times when buds are finishing up I’ve thought they could look like seed pods but then upon the finished smoke they definitely were not, just swollen leafs

I already pulled the main plant in question out of the tent just in case, and this is why it’s under non-tent lighting in these attached pics

But for the sake of learning and improving my own knowledge - just wondering how YOU would decide the plant is ruined or not

And once again I totally have no problem accepting it here, I am almost positive I know what caused it if it did happen (my blumats malfunctioned and dried the plants out and I got complacent because things were almost on autopilot)

Much appreciated for your knowledge and useful tips, I think this actually is useful for ANY new grower like myself!

Cheers and much love guys, I hope if anything others benefit from this as well as I feel like a ton of people will encounter this if I did !

Pics of the plant I’ve quarantined (and its likely both if this one confirmed):

Do these tell a tale? Do they show anything?

What tests or confirmations can you do if you are worried your stuff is seeded?

Guidance is majorly appreciated

THANK YOU!

Hey dude nice buds!

Have you pics of what you think is dried nanners? A few close ups of said plant will help. Dried nanners would be open indicating they’ve dropped pollen, if that happened you would of seen yellow powdery patches on some leaves.

Seeds can sometimes be pretty easy to find, they’ll present themselves as little green pods poking out, you’ll recognise them because they dont fit the part. Then a lot of the time, I find especially at the very tip of your colas, you might find something that resembles a pod but can just be a folded over sugar leaf that didnt get out. I’ve seen more things that look like seeds than being actual seeds.

Pistols browning far too early can be an indicator, slow bud production too.

Asides from that, grab a good sized bud from where you think may have some, rip it open (dont grind) and inspect inside all the little pods closest to the stem, you might find tiny little brown flakes inside them.

And for real, gorgeous buds, a few seeds here and there wont be the end of the world and until we’ve seen the plant you pulled it might be ok too.

From those pics my first thought is… i wanna smoke :eyes:

Dont toss because of seeds. Getting a lid without seeds was a bonus when I was young. A little less potent but you will find it sweet smoke when broken up and carded.

Well put from @Dinky. Here’s a plant around week 4 that I’m intentionally breeding. The calyxes will focus on seed development in stead of bud development :love_you_gesture:

What did you cross there? It’s a nice looking plant.

That was a cross of Kona Gold x Panama Red. This was a clone from that cross and going through a reversal for some feminized seeds :love_you_gesture:
