Hot pepper related ( Trying to grow Carolina reapers )

Hello,

I wanted to ask if anyone has had experience growing hot peppers. I have a few seedling that have begun to show true leaves @ 4 weeks old.

The problem is i had to put them under a strong light where my marijuana plants are flowering, because my other grow lights i realized aren’t strong enough. Now i have 4 week old seedlings under a 12/12 schedule, how long do you think i can get away with this setup ( I do want to veg my peppers ). Flowering has just begun on my marijuana plants ( I am 3 months from harvest ). I don’t want my peppers fruiting pre-maturely.

Your peppers won’t fruit based off light schedule. In fact, here’s mine! They are not photoperiodic plants, meaning that they’re kind of like autoflowers, once a few weeks pass by they’ll begin to flower and fruit.

I’m not sure if they grew them indoors or out
@Deez @JaneQP

I won’t be of any help. I grew peppers outdoors.

Yup, just as @Sammys said, peppers don’t care about the light schedule. They are not photoperiod plants

Harvest is a long ways away. I’m keen to see yours though, i see you’ve not pruned your pepper plant, may i ask why?

You’re letting them grow long stalks, is this a technique?

Yes! It is a technique. I like to call it basically your username. The N00b technique. :joy: it’s my first time growing a pepper. I honestly wasn’t quite sure what to expect. It is very large.

Hello almost 4 month old peppers here ( i know the growth is slow AF).

12 hours on 12 hours off. Ran into a thrip/aphid problem and had to bring out the pesticide and kill the critters.

The leaves were just fine before the attack and now there is no sign of insects but the plant health doesnt look so good ( It’s been a week since i sprayed with pesticide)/

Question is how do i remedy this:

  1. Too much fertilizer?

  2. Too much light?

  3. Or is it the after effect of the insects, but new growth is still slow af.

Hot peppers are slow growers until nighttime temps warm up.they don’t require a lot of fertilizer IMO.
I’ve grown hot peppers from NYS to SC and they are easy in the south.
