Hey All,
Hope everyone is having a good day. It’s always a beautiful day to grow. I have mentioned in several of my other posts that I was lucky enough to attend the Palm Springs Home Grow Tour on 3/23 with ILGM in their Grow Class. In the class, they gave us each a couple of seeds to germinate to take home to grow. I had suggested that perhaps the mods would start a thread to follow those seeds that were given out across the USA and how they are doing. But alas, nothing has been posted, so I thought that I would just share what mine have done so far. I would really like to thank ILGM and all of their staff for doing the tour. Shout out to Olaf, Sihan, Clare and the rest of the team that was there. It really solidified in my mind that ILGM is really a part of our community and not just another seed shop like a bunch of the others. Anyway, I’m going to post up what has happened since the grow class for the seeds that I received. These were Papaya Kush Feminized Autoflower. My buddy that I brought to the class can’t grow at his house (HOA association) so I got his seeds as well. One did not make it (my fault), but the other 3 are going right along. I am doing one in an outdoor hydroponic setup and two in the 5-gallon ILGM Grow Bags that they provided. I hope that you enjoy looking at them as much as I am enjoying taking care of them. I’ll load pictures in chronological order up to date.
My apologies, I didn’t recall seeing you suggest a thread for these. I’m not opposed to starting a thread for this if there’s at least a few active members that have them.
Thanks! It was just very kind of the ILGM team to give out the two seeds each in the grow classes. Mine was on the 23rd of March, but I know that the LA group before had a class as well as March 22nd in Palm Springs. And I believe that there were other grow classes along the tour. But I’m not sure what seeds were given out in each class. That’s why I thought that perhaps they didn’t want to do a grow thread because all the seeds were different. But I’m just happy and proud to be a part of it. That’s why I jumped in for the Community Grow #2. Super excited for all of it. I know that I have some other plants in the group pictures that are not the Papaya Kush Fem Auto. In the hydro buckets, behind and front right of the PKA, one is the White Truffle Fem Photo (also to be grown in Comm Grow #2), and a Roberts Gold Leaf behind the White Truffle.
There’s no problem running a thread for it, I just don’t know of anyone other than you that is active on the forum and attended one of the events. If I see start seeing others we can fire it up.
You might be the only forum member that got a chance to get these from us. Hence, no updates from anyone else.
Alex and Angela were also in Phoenix (from LA). They just posted another update of theirs on insta:
Hey @dbrn32 , That makes perfect sense. Thanks for letting me know. In my own mind, I was just thinking that everyone would/could do it and I didn’t even think about it from that perspective. Really appreciate you.
Those already look so frosty and good. I don’t use, or have, pretty much any social media outside of LinkedIn for business (now retired), YELP, and these forums. I never had a MySpace, Twitter, FaceBook, BlueSky, X, or any of the other myriad of platforms. But I really appreciate you forwarding those pics. Great to see it happening! Thanks so much.
Dude, it’s just sloppy on my part. It’s three somewhat decent lights (well, two chinese LED-bars that lit me up when touched near the cable) just slopped together so poorly that they’re barely oriented properly. I had the plants outside and it just got rainy and cold - so I just fidgeted this stuff up in a spare closet. Much of the rays are wasted shining on the wall or on the back of one of the other lights - its honestly ridiculous. But they’re doing well
Hey all. Its been a week so I thought I am doing an update on my Palm Springs plants. Good practice for weekly posting on Community Grow #2.
Plants are looking good. Starting to get a bit frosty on the top. The hydroponics one is definitely outperforming the two in the fabric pots, but they all seem healthy which is the most important thing. Papaya Kush Auto, dropped seeds 3/23/25 at class, into pots or bucket approximately 4/7/25.
Not sure how good it will show in this picture but if you look closely at my fingers, you can see the sticky resin from just brushing my fingers over the frosty tops on this one. Makes me happy and proud!
