This post is to alleviate growers concerns with HST. Here are some pictures of a Hindu Kush mother bent, broken, stretched and tortured. The mother was 5ft tall. I wanted to experiment on just how much a cannabis plant could take. The tent is a 3x3. 600w of ES300V2 lighting. 1 exhaust fan. 1 rh/temp meter. 20 gallon pot. Living soil. @Roadsideorganics.ok nutrient line.
Not yet sir. I want 2lb. I fimmed the whole canopy. Ill veg another 2-3 weeks for the fims to take well then flip. I have headroom and can take some good stretch. The lights I have run so cool I can sit 8"off the canopy wide open.
Hoping so. Was a spur of the moment decision. Resetting whole grow to clones. 5x5 and a 32"x32" mother/clone tent. Once the 3x3 harvests it will get vegging clones.
I like big but only for the 2lb goal. Any plant that is healthy can be done. This works especially well for shorter tents with little headroom. Get too tall can HST them down a couple feet. Care and PATIENCE!!! Continual defoliation makes the veg fast.
I have the 2x4x6 ac infinity test, so have some room to play! It’d be cool if I can spread her the full 4 feet while managing the narrower 2 feet front to back. Height wise should be good, even if I have to supercrop her later
Just a mention. HST can be done right after stretch. If get massive vertical can bend and break. 8-12 weeks of flower is more than enough recovery time.
You can wall to wall a 2x4 with 2 5gallon and a net. That is more scrog. This was a VERY invasive train. Will seldom see this hard. Just wanted to see what it could handle. I was surprised. Helps that I can afford to lose a girl like that if she quit.
Absolutely love this, im a huge fan of training as much as possible. I always like to run trellis on our green house rows with a fair amount of training, best way to use all the available space and get prime support at the same time
Now thats what im talking about haha! Come on by man, im already getting excited for next season, making my self wait till January before i start cleaning the Greenhouse back up, otherwise ill find a reason to start now!
Heres a few shots from our 2023 season where i did a good amount of train on the rows. The purple was our Roscoes Papaya anf the othe side was our Guid Dog strain that Roscoe is a cross of. They got flipped mid april, and harvested mid june.
Before the temps got to high.
