High latitude auto test

Living up north has outdoor challenges. Having a buddy who’s a dinosaur and set in his ways is also a great way to get into a debate every time we visit. When I got going and wanted to test the auto world out it was naysaying over and over. This past year has started to sway his mind, not that he’s going to the dark side anytime soon. I digress, I live in the city and he lives in the country so I said let me bring a couple over just for fun and see what comes of it. So I packed the soil gasp (miracle grow lol) and a crappy bucket and a tote and we just dropped the beans and walked away. Much to my surprise the fast buds blackberry grows WAY better outdoors than anything I’ve come up with, as many of you know my disdain for that particular genetics.then there is the gorilla glue! He kept sending me messages that I “effed up” and gave him a photo plant. So today I paid him a visit and took a walk back into the woods. First I laid eyes on the blackberry and she’s putting right along. Then I had a look at the GG. Massive in stature and could see that it was past preflower and said have a look again. He claimed it was nothing like that 4 days ago. I told him had he been giving them the nutes with the kind of summer we’ve been having he’d have trees!

Nice story. That was decent of you to try and get your buddy growing. Once he smokes his own stuff he’ll be hooked on growing. Those are some nice looking plants. Ilgm has so many awesome genetics. Keep me updated on how things progress I love stuff like this!

Oh he grows… like an old woman. Everything by a book written in 1930. :man_facepalming:t2:
He does really well actually! But he makes it kind of boring with the same old thing day in and day out. I want an adventure to see what’s new and how far I can push them getting the absolute most out of them

I’m looking for a heavy yielding indoor indica. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I’ve never been able to grow outside. The critters use my plants as a all they can eat salad bar. Maybe he’ll try to enjoy some of the improved techniques available to him

Right off the top of my head my first go to and I have a deep love for northern lights and blue dream. They are both hybrids but lean indica. Northern lights is just a friggen powerhouse! Get them to about 28-30” and flip the switch! I definitely recommend LST or scrog with them though. Hell I get bored and top mine too.
I’ve got this critical plus 2.0 going right now and it’s a 50 day flower that’s supposed to be a heavyweight but the jury is in week two  on that. Before and after a haircut.

I’ve been looking at the northern lights. Was leaning towards the fem instead of the reg or auto. I go through a oz a week and my space is about 16-20 sq/ft so what ever I choose needs to grow a bunch of buds or I have to cut back LoL :joy:

That’s a nice looking setup. Mine are in a extra bedroom. Picture to follow

@blackthumbbetty Do you have any suggestions. I’m growing in bubblers

Those look pretty damn healthy! @blackthumbbetty is correct! I just got excited about high yielders.

Yes they are a few weeks older and about to come down in a week or so. They are white widow autos sorry I almost forgot

I’ve seen Sweet Seeds Bloody Skunk auto yield 6++ oz in hydro, in just 3 months or so (@DoobieNoobie). Very heavy hitting indica. Makes my eyes cross.

I personally have never gotten more than 2oz per plant in promix.

Thank you for your suggestions. However, I’m not interested in going to another seed company. I’ve only used ilgm seeds. I’ve never bought seeds until recently. I trust and like ilgm genetics. I’m sure they are as wonderful as you say so I do appreciate your time.

For whatever reason(s) I cant get ILGM products sent to Alaska. I use seedsman personally when I do need to order but companies have been sending me more than I’ll ever be able to keep up with.

@ThatoneAKguy I don’t know why seed companies choose to do that. It doesn’t make any sense. The ilgm white widow autos I bought from them sold me on their products. I’ve got 2 1/2 plants really 3 about to be chopped in the next few days. I’ll easily yield over 2 LBs of dried manicured bud from them. The stuff was too easy to grow. I’ve not grown in years but I just went back with how I used to grow. Only problem was from a cheap ph pen and that showed up early in the grow. So I’m gonna stick with them for now because ilgm rules :+1:

@ThatoneAKguy great looking autos, great job, I wonder how would they do if planted in the ground? Ofcourse prep you holes with your soil mix and then plant your autos outdoors, I’ve only grown a few so I don’t have much experience with autos but I will still smoke them, lol

Sweet. Those autos are looking good.

@Stonedagain2 I can endorse NL from ILGM. I also highly recommend Afghani from ILGM. In fact I made a cross of the 2!
