Hey grow family need light suggestions 👍🏽

Okay grow familia, so I am currently using a 100w vivosun full spectrum light but I know that it isn’t enough. I haven’t had much growth on the plant I currently have in the closet. My tent arrives today, I got a decent tent for my current means I’m balling on a fine tuned budget don’t have very much to spend on a light at the moment but I need suggestions on a good cheap light that will be good for a 3x3 indoor grow tent. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated because the 100w I know won’t be great for the results I would like to achieve

I would look for a light built with Samsung LM301b diodes. The b version is a generation or 2 behind, but they perform very well. Amazon search results for LEDs will be chock full of burple scams. Avoid them. If budget is a concern, then look to aftermarket sales on eBay or elsewhere.

Shoot for 200 watts per plant. If you have a larger grow, then look for ~40 watts per square foot of canopy space. 400 watts from LM301 diodes will minimally light a 3x3.

Hispanic?

This is a great idea. FB Marketplace is full of grow equipment from frustrated pharmers I bet!!

Or pharmers that have scaled back. I have a few HLG 260s with LM301b diodes that I’d like to sell. Not to upgrade, but just because I have too many that I no longer use. The LM301b diodes perform great. I see no need to move to recent generation models that offer only a 10 to 15% improvement in efficiency at a greater cost when the b model works fine.

Is there any way to send pm’s in this forum?

Also what is a burple? I’ve seen that term mentioned a few times in here now I am not sure what that means

It is. Also commercial grows will list old lights when upgrade. Only 2 years or so on 5-7 year lights. One of our top organic guys and myself finagled 20 600.00 lights for 1k and passed them out at cost. Just look out to 150 miles. Worth a drive for an HLG or another top brand for dirt. Dont tease the poor sap who spent 1k on the light he is liquidating for 250 .

Blurple? Maybe? Idk I got this off temu not realizing how small it was and I’m not sure it’s even that good of a light

The blue and red r both the same light they can run separately or the red and normal light both in. Figured it probably wouldn’t be very effective for growing but maybe for flowering with the red

Not good lights. I would look at something way better

Some will slay 1 plant. The 1 pictured is really good but hot and inefficient power wise. Will grow 1 plant very well.

Yeah I thought it was going to be better then what it was. I saw the price and jumped on it and was definitely disappointed but you get what you pay for :man_facepalming:t4::man_facepalming:t4::man_shrugging:t4:. Lesson learned, :sob::rofl: sorry guys I’d be liking all the feedback but I’m still fairly new to this forum it restricts my likes still :see_no_evil:

Look at @Mmanson1981 suggestion, I’ve been running the Szhlux lights for a year and very happy with them. You could use the 500 he suggested or the 400 in your 3x3. I run the 620 and the 840, but they won’t fit your tent, the 840 measures 4ft by 4ft! Check my journal for examples of plants grown under them. For the money, I haven’t found anything that touches them.
