runtz** i meant runtz is the first one thats my favorite looking… idk why i said gdp got it mixed up
Looking good, Runtz is a great one. They can be vigorous though!
do u think the 2 runtz with the 3 gdp is a bad mix for flowering?
i know different strains grow different, as far as veg is goin they are looking pretty similar, but im a little curious how flowering will go with these 2, im hoping one doesn’t completely outgrow the other
Honestly I can’t really answer. My Runtz grew over 6’ tall. GDP grew around 4’ tall both scrogged. Different veg times in the net, different stretches. Multiple strains under a net can be a challenge. Specially if harvest times are far off from each other.
A lot of the way plants grow is based on how you care for them. My experience will be different from yours and they will be different from seed to seed…
The only way to answer your question is if you were running clones from plants you’ve already run before, and even then they’d have to be grown the same way as the mother plants to get those same results.
Be prepared to boost, add additional netting, and super crop if needed.
so the netting is just to support the bud growing so its not falling over, right?
how far apart do u space the nets
The secondary (or 3rd) is generally used for support but you can also use it to control height also. I usually run another net when flower starts officially and slide it down some to support weight. It’s better to install the secondary net before stretch and slide it around to where you need it.
You can see my secondary here. Realistically I could of ran it a little higher up but this net serves another purpose. It’s placed 10” from the top of the average canopy height so pretty much everything below that net gets chopped.
u think 2 ir 3 trellis nets would work fine? or should i really take the time to build one myself
i plan to when i get a bigger set up, but for this grow idk if its necessary yet.
So the benefit of building one yourself is how rigid you can make it. All the lines can be super tight, which helps with training. Always recommend that over buying those stretchy nets, and using disposable cut to size netting for the rest. Those stretchy nets cost about the same amount as building your own. You make the frame use mason line or something similar that’s water resistant, and you can cut it upon harvest and re string it next round. It would be a shame to have to cut that stretchy one. But depending on how you intend on harvesting it might work for you. I hang plants whole and cut all the netting to get them out.
i noticed the second 1x2 on the outside of the frame, what was wrong with the main square of 1z2s, what’s the purpose of adding that second 1x2s on the front?
was it just so it looks cooler or what haha
Looking good!
The frame your seeing in those pictures are actually 2 frames I put together. They are from my 2x4’s.
The reason for the second layer is so the frame hugs the corner polls and sits between them. I wanted the frame to fill the entire space.
oh ok so they are 2x4s, they looked kinda small and i thought u or someone mentioned 1x2s for the frame
but alright, and what about yarn or is that too flimsy
They are 1x2 and made of maple they were originally made for my 2x4 tents. Lol
The line used in the original design was weed eater line. Stay away from anything like cotton.
Mason line works well and water/mold resistant
i say let the buddening begin
the last picture before the first 12
I’ll be away for 2 days, will probably go through 3 shifts before i get to check on em again. i fed them today and hopefully will be just fine on its first 3 12s all by their lonesome
first 2 12s done
got back early, added jacks bloom
will be using the bloom for about a week to 2 weeks, than switch back to part A and part B
ive had a few different opinions get thrown my way so far, as far as trimming in flowering goes.
I think early on, like right now wouldnt be too bad if i trimmed a little underneath i believe…
can anyone here tell me their thoughts on the subject? i got a feeling it will probably need to be trimmed somehow throughout flowering, but i also was just thinking of leaving it as is for the rest of it’s time…
i just dont want unnecessary trim to be absorbing energy that would go to waste and could be put to better use making the buds more potent
First I’d just get rid of anything on the bottom that has not reached the net. Do you have an under skirt pic?
This stuff isn’t going to effect potency. That’s mostly genetics. It will increase over all quality, and size. Chopping out the BS saves energy to produce denser and larger main bud to a degree. N plus no one likes larf, lol.
haha alright, i think i got basically everything under the net a few days ago, havent trimmed yet, 30 mins till the next 12, so, if anything ill have to wait till tomorrow
now i just let it grow up right? over the next 8-10 weeks or so and watch the trichomes and basically the trichomes on the buds will tell me when it is ready to harvest?
