So I met this guy at a greenhouse and we got to talking about our “tomato” plants(even if it’s legal no one else needs to know) . He sent me a pic of his little lady and she is showing signs of distress. He asked me if I could help and I told him I would see what I can find out. Here is the pic he sent.

What do you think? @Stomper, @Donaldj, @Niala, @Majiktoker, @peachfuzz
Probably right, this could be so many types of defficiencies …iron, sulphur, magnesium, manganese…, the ph is most likely out of whack…
I would re- pot it to a bigger pot with new soil and check the water ph…
Just my 2 cents
What is the pH range for dirt growing? I know he got a bag of fox farms ocean and is planning to transplant soon. With the change in soil and getting the ph correct is there anything else he needs to correct his issues?
6.3 to 6.9 for soil grows the fox farm ocean forest should be good enough to solace his problems, it is rich in minerals and nutrients plants needs at that size it will take well to that soil
I let @bob31 to answer this, much more experience than me…
I think after that it will be ok, if she can spend a few hours looking at the real sun, that usually help a lot…
Most metal def show early in the top because they are highly mobile micro nutrients that tend to bond well with other nutrients and travel easily through plants. They are also fairly quick to see improvement since they are so mobile
And yes most likely ph related
I would add a possibility of over-watering because that’s the first thing we do as new growers… it’s enabadable that we want them to grow faster so we give them all kinds of stuff + water …thinking that they will grow faster… that is not the case… the plant will grow it’s best when it does whatever it wants… you just want to give it it’s best chance by supplying whatever it needs at the time it needs it…
I tend to be a jerk and give them whatever they want whenever I think they need it and if I’m wrong , oh well they’ll get over it and I will push them to wherever I need them to be… as time goes on… such as life… get over it…the plants that is…
Lots of good advice here. FFOF is great soil in my view. I use it exclusively now. Ph should be between 6.5 and 6.8 ideally for soil. By the size of the leaves and they way they stand I think generally it is getting the right light and water schedule. I like to keep things simple so to me, I would start with transplant and checking ph and see how it does. That may be all it needs.
