I brought cure bags because I thought it would automatically cure them damn was I wrong

I experimented with them once, I didnt heat seal them. The bud was dry af. I went back to jars. I guess I shouldve expected them to be dispensary dry since thats what commercial weed is packed in.

Once you have the weed at the right humidity. It stays there over time. It sounds like @Johnny6 got a batch of grove bags like I did. I have bout a lot and of different sizes. I got one batch that I am still sorting through that bleeds humidity like jars. Jars pretty much adjust to the humidity that is around it. For any thing I have in jars. I re seal every time I open them with one of these. It will keep your humidity better than just tightening a lid or even the grove bags. I use this one that is out of stock right now. But there are other sealers that are similar to choose from

Yeah they were grove bags…idk why I thought they would be better than jars…nope. I’ve never used a jar sealer but Ive tossed a boveda pack in a jar before but i stopped doing that last run. I found that as long as you cure correctly and you go through a jar fast enough its not really needed. Does the vacuum sealer dry out the bud? Im no physicist but lower pressure = more evaporation to me.

My jars only last till my friends arrive  I am not what you would call a smoker. Maybe a few hits a week. More to sample what I grow. My friends all consume the rest. All my grove bags have done great. Till that one order. I keep all my samples I keep for me in jars. And re seal them after each use. I probably am down to about 20 samples that are just for my self. I only recently started sampling. I have never been a smoker. I use a vape now. Man do you taste all the flavors with that. Not the same effects as smoking with a bong, pipe or doobie though.

A rule of thumb I go by I always make sure to let them dry for at least 7 days then grab a bud and if it snaps clean off the stem they are dry enough. Also I invested in a bowl trimmer it works wonders and cuts out ALOT of the trimming work and make sure you let them sit in the cure bags for at least a month

Nice Job there on that bud @LowkeyLee

Nice bud. I would try and find some one with ab owl trimmer before you get on. I had one, tried it once and sold it to a friend. It really tears your buds up compared to hand trimming. Some people don’t mind. The easier trim means more. I can see for out door grows. But indoor plants are a lot smaller. The bowl trimmer knocks off to many of the trichomes in my 02. And will tear up buds that are on the lighter side.

I actually don’t know how to trim that’s the one video that I skipped I figured just but off the leaves I don’t want to smoke :joy: I’ll do better next grow

I only use a bowl trimmer but as stated by @Not2SureYet it can quickly reduce the size of a bud. I do 5 turns each way and check. One thing though is the trim is not lost nor are the tricomes. The bowl collects them and we separate the keif, freeze the shake/trim and thrn dry ice sift to get the keif from the trim. We generally press the keif into pucks and save the trim to further press or RSO etc.

I have one of those little herb presses. They are great. You can also use them to compress weed into little pot coins  The down side to pressing kief would be, Letting any of your friends try it. After that. They will be hounding you for more

I think I missed up guys my weed don’t taste too good it smells good but the taste isn’t good this happened with my last grow what am I doing wrong

Looking at the last few grows, they’re being harvested too soon. This last pic probably needed another 4 weeks. 7 days after this pic you say it’s drying. Pulling the plants way too soon.

I just went off the color of the trichimones they were half amber but maybe I could have let it grow longer I gave it 65 days

Check the color on the buds. The leaves will amber quicker than the buds. I normally wait for the all the white pistils to turn red, and for the bracts to close around them so you hardly see any pistils. Its at that point I start checking trichome color and its usually a week or two after until they are ready.

I usually cut a bud off the plant and check the whole bud if it’s amber that’s when I cut the plants

Have you tried to reintroduce moisture? When I was in state university for corrections we would put apple slices or orange peels in our tobacco cans when they got too dry. You guys have had a brutal winter and thats gotta be contributing to it.
