Help, my soil grow was changed to 12/12 a week ago, I am watering only as needed with flowering plant food but slightly less than recommend dosage of food. On my Goldleaf there are 3 doors where a branch appears to be dying with wilted, flimsy leaves and browning top. This is my 3rd drow and its always at flowering that trouble arises. What am I doing wrong and how to correct?

All has been going great with the Goldleaf and Purple Haze. The lights were changed to 12/12 after 9 weeks of vegging and scrogging. I added Vigoro flowering plant food to the top of the soil and for the past two weeks have been watering with plain water but last watering was with miracle grow flowering plant food, I mix according to the directions in fresh one gallon jugs.
A couple branches are now showing greying and browning along with witling and dying. the rest of the plant appears to be hearty for now.
The purple has has not shown any ill effects and my hydro grow in the other tent has been so smooth and easy that I think after these soil grows are over I will quit using soil and go all hydro.

Looks like I need to add lime to raise the pH, do I add it to my water or mix into the soil and then flush until ph is up to 6.5-6.8? By flush, you mean simply keep adding water as it drains out of pot, testing the ph until desired level is met and then let the soil go unwatered until the soil dries. Do I add lime to future waterings?
I’m going full hydro after this soil harvest, just too many variables with soil. Far less with hydro.

OK. 1st thing is that low low PH. I would start there. Probably the issue. I don’t know about the Vigro,never used it.
If you make up nutrients and PH them at 6.5-7.0 you should be able to just drench them and wait. After a couple of water cycles with the proper PH solution, you should be fine.
Keep in mind that the damage is not going to get better. prune it away. You still may see some effect from this issue, but new growth should be fine.

Many thanks my growing guru. I will prune away any affected growth and make and add a fresh batch of ph adjusted water and nutes as you prescribe.
