Help please, newbie here

Anything to be worried about. First grow. The colors of leaves seem a bit strange to me. Im at day 12 since ive put them in dirt. I messed up i know. I put them in miracle gro moisture control. I will correct that on next grow. The ladies are Auto northern lights. Feeding .25 tsp as directed of gro, micro, and bloom of flora brand. Using well water and ph to 6.3-6.6 after nutes are added. Feeding every other day about .25 gallon. Placing water just outside the canapy. This seems to be when the soil is dry. Temp 69-75F. Humidity 50-57%. Small fan on low. Pointing on plant maybe little above. Just enough to make the plant wiggle gently. I only have temp, humidity, and ph meter. Any tools i will need, Going forward. I have jewler loop and mosquito bites on way

Look good. Right now worry on new growth. First leaves will fade/spot/wilt etc. We want new growth green and vibrant. Now and next couple weeks less is more. It will explode soon. Miracle grow will probably be too nitrogen rich. You have time to buy cannabis friendly soil and repot. I would personally. It is young and healthy. A soil change will pay off i swear.

If that is one of the 3 in 1 soil probe type, it is pretty much just gonna get you in trouble. All you need is a decent Ph pen type meter and a cheap TDS meter. Lift your plant when you know absolutely that it is dry and feel how light it is. Do it again after you soak it good and you can tell when to water by weight/feel. No moisture meter needed.

Those look a little young to be getting nutes already, especially in MG soil. Water too for that matter. I soak my planter good before placing sprout in and then don’t add water again for around 10 days or more. Over-watering is probably the #1 mistake for new growers.

I just started using an app called jane. Its pretty cool, helps you keep track of where you are and what you have done and with who. Might help.

Agree with @HMGRWN on adding nutrients. That leaf pic looks like a little variegation, it’s common and I get at least 1 out 4 on my runs. They’ll grow out of it :love_you_gesture:

I would go with a soil intended for cannabis for the next grow or your transplant of this plant. Cannabis and MG products aren’t a good match as MG is not pH buffered for cannabis. It nukes your plant with nitrogen and submarines your pH every time you water. Fox Farm soils, Black Magic, or Roots Organics are all good cannabis soils.

Looks great otherwise.

So like, a gallon of water for a solo cup? Just how much water do you give to what sized pot? When and by how much do you increase when you increase? Seedling is hardest part IMO. Dont water em and they dry up, do water em and they damp off.

What everyone is saying. Get it out of that soil, and use that soil for flowers, vegetables, etc. You definitely don’t want to feed with that soil since it has those little nitrogen balls in it. And only water when it’s dry. A plant that size can go a long time without water.

If it’s Northern lights auto, you’ll have to transplant real soon or it can end up as a short version. I’ve done it before by waiting too long. That root needs to have some of the dirt it’s in now at the bottom and the rest the rest can be the good stuff. She looks fine right now. Grow on>

I plant my sprouted seed directly into 3 gal fabric planter, no solo cups for me. Before that I water the soil to the point of runoff. (about a gal) I do not water again until the pot is as light as it was before first water. That is usually about 10 days or so.
The first water after planting is usually about a quart of plain Ph about 6.5 water. That is poured slowly in a ring outside the leaves toward the edge of the planter. Never directly on the stalk area.

These have had no water since planting.

Another week has passed. Leaves curling on new growth.

Are you still in the MG medium? Initial impression is a PH issue :love_you_gesture:

I had this variegation on my forbidden runtz auto, for a good couple nodes then I haven’t seen it since, almost week 5 now and the variegation fully cleared up, also my Strawberry cheesecake auto is still really vibrant green but she hasn’t shown me any other issues

@Dman88
So yeah I would (if you can) change the soil, I use Bio bizz light mix and all mix and they are really really good imo, alot of people here use coco or FFOF as most are in the states and I believe bio bizz is European, so FFOF may be easier for you to get hold off if you’re also in the states

I get the variegation at least 1 or 2 every grow but the curling of the leafs resemble PH, nutrients or lighting intensity?? :love_you_gesture:

Yeah mine also did that with light stress, like a taco effect

Im still in the MG. Gonna just finish this one out. Allthough i did stop feeding them anything extra. Still getting the taco effect though. Any clues how i may get it right, when it starts flowering. I come to learn MG is lotz of nitrogen. But guessing it will need some extra P and K when the time comes. But the nitrogen is to strong during this phase still Got another one that germinated and i put in dirt last night. Foxfarm ocean blebd this time. No nutes for 4 weeks correct? Any way of knowing or suggestions on what to try. As far as nutes during flowering on the on i got in MG?

se7en. Now that you mention it. I believe thats when it did start happening. Once i started doing 24 hour light cycles. I was doing 18 for 2 weeks when it first popped up then i started doing 24.

That is exactly when it happened. I just looked at my jornal. I turned the lights up to max and started doing 24 hours instead of 18 hours and these symtoms appeard. Let me try that. What setting would you reccomend According to handy dandy chart? Im currently at 18 inches dead center 24 hours a day. 150 watt led

For the one in MG I would water only well into flower at a PH of 6.5 with liberal run off each time to help rinse the medium of the MG nutrients and watch the plant in flower. Plants need rest, I only run 24 hours the first 14 days. The FFOF medium will carry you for 5-6 weeks with water only at 6.5 PH then you need to test the run off PPMs to know how much to feed :love_you_gesture:
