Hey everyone! First time grower. My plants are in flowering stage and might be getting ready for harvest, but im not sure. I am having problems with leaves on both plants. Recently flushes my plants because there was way too much nutes in them. That was about 2 weeks ago. I mixed up a new batch of water and nutrients and watered them after 2 or 3 days after the flush. 2 days later i opened my tent and the leaves on the one were turninf black. Not the tips, the whole leaf! It might be a really dark green, but it looks black to me. Some of the leaf tips have turned up, some down, some folding like a taco long ways and the leaves are hard and feel crunchy. My second plant the leafs had been dropping and twisting. I couldnt get the leaves to stop twisting or straighting out and not be droopy. The leaves also started with orangey/yellow spots on them. After this watering and nutrient solution i used, the leaves are still super droopy, the spots on the leaves has increased and some are getting black on the leaves like plant number 1, but not as many leaves have the black. Idk what i did. Ph of water and solution was 6.0-6.5. Im super frustrated right now. I got cal mag nutrients too. I did put it in a spray bottle at first, then decided to just put it in my watering solution.
Now there are still some good looking leaves on both plants. I was gonna trim to open up light to the buds that are hidden. Maybe if i take away the bad leaves the plant can focus on good leaves. Idk.
Im growing inside in a mars hydro tent. I have a fan goong constantly that changes wind speed every few seconds and i have it oscillating. Plants are in 10" pots. I have a * Mars Hydro TS 600 Full Spectrum 100W LED Grow Light. I have exhaust fan and filter. Temp is in low 70’s when lights on and mid to high 60’s when light is off. Humidity is regulary around 50%.
The nutrients i have been using are nutrilling by royal team
Calmag 2-0-0, royal grower 3-1-6, leaf queen 5-0-1, bloom spirit 0-5-4 and this last mixture i used a little bit of forest charm with humic acid 2-1-4. They are all measured by certain ML’s by quarts and i usually mix 3 quarts. I always start off with the minimum amount before going up to see how the plants react. Can anyone help? Also when the plants are ready for harvest do all the pistils turn orange or are there some white ones still there too? I looked up how to tell if they are ready, but i cant tell. Id appreciate any help. Thank you so very much!! Oh i am growing in coco coir and the seeds were random seeds i got from a friend. Here are pics.
Severe N toxicity.
Agreed ^^ skip a feeding or two… shes finishing up so she wont need as much nutes. Youre nitrogen youre feeding is way too high. while in flower your first number should be 2 or lower…
Your nitrogen number with this mix is 10… way too high… also the humic acid will only make things worse at this point.
I agree. Nitrogen toxicity in plants results in clawed, shiny and dark green leaves. Some nice buds, also appear to be frosty. Good luck completing your grow
Do you got more of them seeds? Looks like it tried to be an awesome looker. Like to see it grown again
I have only ever grown in hydro. During flower I stop calmag, and lay off nitrogen more and more each feeding. The bloom always raises my ppm way up. i noticed the calmag made fluffy buds atleast for me.
Agree with above and wanted to ask if you’ve had any issues with bugs. Some of those leaves that show calcium deficiency like the brown spots might be bug bites just wanted to add that you may want to look on the backside of some of those leaves and check for bugs/eggs
Those look like they’re getting close, just need the trich’s to develop more. If you were planning on flushing at the end you are close to that point.
Wow thank you so much everyone!!! Really really appreciate it! I dont have anymore seeds unfortunately. Started out with 5 and these were the only 2 females. I was saving 1 male for seeds and because i just wanted to see it grow with it being my first time and all, but i ended up not beinf able too because of it being too close to the females.
Im heading to bed, time change is NJ got me all messed up. I reply again tomorrow. All ya’ll are awesome! Love alll the help!
Oh i havent seen any bugs at all. I saw places where some leaves looked like they had been almost like eaten so i looked at the plants and didnt see anything. I will look again tomorrow and focus on the underside
Thank you! The nutrients i selected to use in the beginng say they work best when used together in this 3 part series… 5-0-1,
0-5-4, and 3-1-6. And if i use the calmag one i got of that same brand its 2-0-0. The one nute that says to use during bloom doesnt have any nitrogen. I guess i wouldve had better luck just using the bloom spirit and calmag that has the 2 and going from there. I even emailed the company and talked to them about what to use to make sure i was reading it correctly. Yea the way they have it its a ton of Nitro. Thanks a lot for your help
Thank you so much! You nailed it!
Thank you for taking time out for my questions
Nah no more seeds. This summer (here in NJ) i think im gonna buy some from ilgm and see if i can do better the second round
Ah ok. When i had the droopy twisted leaves on my one plant i tested the soil and run off and there was actually no Nitro at all. And the mixture i made out of the nutrients i had been using was just way too high.
Well now do i have to flush them out? Never harvested so ive been researching it and found a bunch of different things i could do. Depending if i wanted to save the plant… i have to figure out what i wanna do abd make a plan.
I have my little magnifier and im about to go look at the plants now!
Thank you so much!
What type of medium are you growing in @Rnbowbabe ? We’re gonna get you on the right path for a successful grow.
Coco coir
Do you have a ph and ppm meter ?
