Hello all. Been several grows since I’ve been in the forum. Things were going decent, flowers have been blooming. However, I’ve been seeing some leaf issues.
-
My biggest plant as of now is only popping 3-leaf leaves and not 5-7 leaf traditional marijuana leaves which I thought was just weird. Still blooming and flowering as normal though. Maybe just genetics ?
-
My biggest plant is also experiencing some crusty orange leaves. What do you suppose is causing this ???
LED GROW LIGHTS. 14 inches above. Ph Spring Water is 6.8 going in. Humidity controlled at 50 and temp at 72-75. Blueberry Auto Strain. Fan on low 24 hours. Controlled Lighting is 20 on, 4 hours off. And decent exhaust fan out the top. Fox Farms soil, and FF nutrient Trio. pretty much same as I always grow !! What do you all suspect ? I know ph and ppms and all that could be suspected, maybe light too close or wind constantly blowing ???
- as you see in pics, my seedlings are experiencing some tiny little marks which looks like light brown. Same settings as above Except they are about 20-25 inches from light.
LASTLY, 4. My biggest plant is also experiencing what all my plants do for some reason ( some say it’s sexy, some say it’s an issue) but the tips seem burnt and curling up!! What do you all suspect??? Simply answer please according to number, 1-4. Thx. See pics
Ok so the 3 leaf plant is still small. It’s next set will probably have 5. But I do think you have the light to close for it. The little seedling I can’t really tell. Could be from touching the soil or something but I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.
As for the big girl it looks like you have two issues. One being a bit of nute burn but nothing I’d be worried about. But it also looks to have a calcium deficiency which is fairly common in late flower. But I’d probably back off of grow nutes a touch and add a calmag supplement.
Hopefully I got everything lol. That’s a lot of questions for a stoner to cover all at once.

Thanks for info ! And yeah the leaf sets are so odd. It’s literally three leaves on each leaf, all the way through it’s growth and even all the way up to the top cola! Odd but she’s growing decent still anyways. 2 weeks into flower. I moved the LED light up 5 inches and I’ll lower nute intake (which I use bare minimum ever other watering already) slightly. Hopefully that helps now and on my future grows / current seedlings.

Over feeding can cause abnormalities in the leaves - I had the same issue with my last set til I found two problems… I was feeding with every watering and I was using the wrong chart (because it was what was on the back of the bottle) so instead of like 4ml per gallon of bloom I was using 12… wayyyyy too much of each of the 3 parts.
Every strain is different but I like to see a lime green tint to my plants vs the dark hunter green. This is an indicator that there are lots of nutes being stored in the leaves for future use (and if there in the leaves they have just as much stored in roots). I’d back off on the frequency I feed and maybe go to every 3rd watering. I personally cut calmag out when stretch is done but that is not to say @DoobieNoobie is wrong - I will be the first to admit I have a lot to learn so could be in the wrong on this one but wanted to let you know what I personally do. Good luck!

Did you use calmag in veg? If so at what rate and frequency? Maybe plant does not have enough stored? Just an additional thought

this is caused by light leaks during the dark period and/or a bad light schedule, maybe a bad timer.!
they look over fed with N and P, but look Ca deficient.
same as above /\ and they will soon need some added Cal-Mag.
over-nitrification /\
can u post the guaranteed analysis of the fert’s u r using, amount, and frequency.?
this will tell us more of what they r getting.!

Didn’t use any cal mag but seems I probably need to get some !
Only use lowest recommend dose of FF TRIO every other watering. Been using bloom soo. As I saw flowering. But yes. Been doing a perfectly controlled lighting of 20 hours light, and 4 hours pitch black. Maybe I’ll just go back to 24 hour lighting. This is first time I’ve done the 4 hours rest. And def getting some cal mag then. So I use Cal Mag up to flowering then stop ? Thanks All. Really appreciate it.
I carry over until they are done stretching. After that point, they should have plenty to hold them over throughout the remainder of the grow. Of course if you see deficiencies then give them a small dose. I do 5ml per gal during the height of veg and work it back to 2.5 by the time I finish stretch. Good thing is deficiency is much quicker to resolve and has much less stress associated with it that over feeding.

i’d water with 1/2 strength cal-mag for 2 or 3 waterings then go back to fert’s at 1/2 of what u r giving them now.!
oops, i didn’t catch that earlier…
from what i see on the grow sites, auto’s just act weird sometimes,
i’d still check the timer, if it is turning of at odd times it can cause the 3 finger ‘re-veg’ leaves.!
like Sirsmoke said, in FFOF that might be fine,
i m in coco/perlite and feed em cal-mag until chop.
I’m in hydro so I run it to the very end. You just need to watch how much you use because most have a lot of nitrogen in them. And you don’t need all that nitrogen in flowering. So as you can see different ideas, different mediums, different methods.
