This is my first time growing and everything was going well and then I discovered an infestation of spider mites. I went to my local shop and got some nukem. Has anyone used this product before? I mixed 8 tablespoons of product in my sprayer with one gallon of water and a single drop of dish soap. I thought I soaked both plants pretty well with a 3 day treatment but I took a sample from both plants yesterday and saw bugs on the sunset sherbet (the main infestation as far as I can tell) but I didn’t see any on the obama kush. So I’ve got the obama test drying and I isolated the test sample of the sunset in the garage. Currently planning on doing another treatment at the stronger concentration for 3 days. I cut off anything that had webs and bagged it away. Oddly I have noticed more evidence of them toward the bottom of the plant and not as much near the tops. Im trimming yellow leaves or leaves with the little white speckles into bags and throwing them in the trash. Im so disheartened because I’ve put so much work into these girls and they were doing so well. Im contemplating doing the 3 rinse bud wash at harvest, even at the increased risk of molding, because I want to get SOMETHING out of this and I just can’t get past the idea of smoking spider mites. Any suggestions are appreciated on how and what I can do at this point. Thanks.
Neem oil mix in water and spray on bottom also hover any bugs up use a hand held one
Stick with the nukem don’t spray neem oil in flower never used what you have but better then nothing @garrigan62 has a Recipe that involves cigarettes and hot hott sauce that works really well no neem in flower will make everything taste funny
Try this…
Tabacco Juice recipe
Take 3 strong ciggeretes soak them over night in water and the
hottest hot sauce you can find.
Boil it for 2 to 3 miniutes, let it cool off the strain using
ladies nylon socks and spray the plants 3 to 4 times a week.
You can add safer soap if you like to the mixture.
(make absolutly sure you use gloves/face protection while
handling and spraying)
Neem oil works very well too!!
Your Last resort is to use Avid.
I have also used alcohol 70 or 90 % pick it up at any drug store or Dollar Store.
and it EVAPORATES quickly and leaves no after effect. Drys clean.
Then as you stated you can’t stand the thought of smoking mites, well then here’s a video on what to do…
In this vido he washing White Powdery Mildew but you can do the same thing for the Spider Mites
I used everclear on mine i dont know if it completely wiped them out but it drastically reduced the population
I did knw that even if you spray at base thanks good to knw
Yup that works as well. They have no hard shell it’s very soft and the alcohol just fry’s them and their eggs on contact.
But ya more expensive than what you buy @ 70 or 90% at the drug store a dollar at bet.
