Ok plant is a ILGM white widow autoflower. Sprouted first week of June. Is in DWC with two air stones and a 100w vivosun led light. Tent temps stay between 70-78 humidity in the 35-40 range. Plant was looking pretty good until I started adding ph down and getting the ph to 5.5-6. Previously I had always just used plain tap water at ~8.
My theory is nutrient burn due to the plant actually absorbing more nutrient than it previously had with the ph being lowered.
Any input is appreciated, this is my first grow so i don’t know much
Like Graysin, what nutes?
Can you get a side shot of the plants?
I’m noticing yellow leaves at the top. If they are curling up, that could be an indication of light or heat stress related.
What kind of pH meter do you have?
PH of 8 is pretty high. Could have been previous damage. So many things it could be.
Can you find a support ticket and fill it out so we’ll know more of what your working with?
Good luck and keep’em growin!

Sorry I know this isn’t the most helpful. I can stick an instant read in the resevoir, but haven’t been monitoring that at all
first off id like to say whats up to @Graysin been a minute friend, miss talkin with ya! been busy as heck with work lately aint had time to do nothin much else…and onto the problems here …ok first off in dwc the res temps are critical get yourself a
…so you need to understand that hydroponics are not very forgiving when it comes to improper ph balance and nutrient lockout, in hydro 5.5 - 6.5 is ideal range too far above or below that range and roots begin to starve…another cause is lack of nutrients judging from your above picture it looks like the leaf burn is starting from the outside and working its way in which is a sign of nitrogen deficiency…so lets talk about your feed…so i guess back to what graysin asked …what exactly are you feeding and how much?
I think to pin point any one thing might be difficult.
You have to know tds or ppms. You also can’t cheap out on a pH meter. Not saying you are just some thoughts.
A good quality pH meter would be an Apera pH 20 from Amazon and it comes with calibration solution.
Even with a 100 watt light, if too close can burn your plants up but I think not knowing the ppm’s is probably got your pH messed up along with other things.
This could be a part of the problem. It might be a good idea to get on a good hydroponic brand of nutes and get a good quality pH meter. A lot of folks including myself run a product called Jack’s. It’s a 3 part mix measured in grams. Supper easy.
They’ll be others with ideas which you’ll just have to bring it all together and make it your own. Hang in there, you got this!
just to expand on what happyhydrogrower said …its best to 0 your tap water with a RODI system that way you know exactly whats in your res, and also now that we are talkin about tap water …are you allowing enough time for the chrlorine to evaporate …and also now days it takes a lot longer than 24 hrs to evaporate and much much much longer if you live somewhere that treats the drinking water with chloramine, both are noxious compounds that can wreck your plants
Absolutely marvelous my friend. Always trying make my grow better. I’m doing a few small upgrades will post when I’m done. Same old boring thread just changed my name….
likewise graysin! hope you been doin good, i been meaning to pop in and say whats up …i have had to put a pause on growing for the moment because i dont want to end up flipping to flower and having to relocate plants the move is still happening but im a maintenance worker by trade so i been waiting for a maintenance position to open up in NM because then i just live rent free on site and no commute to work is also legit :), lately though im workin 2 jobs so very little time …been linkin up with seed breeders from all over the world started making some really legit ad specialties mostly keychains and jewelry etc for them all and thats taking off might be able to move it from hobby to a jobby
lol you got too much valuable knowledge to ever be boring glad to see you still around and doin good!, look forward to see what you been up to …its always a learning moment
call around - lots of places are so understaffed they can’t really afford to use their few good people to actively promote the positions. It’s not good digs but Tesota properties (Tesota Morningside comes to mind) seemed to always need a maintenance person or six. Plus they manage 3-4 places around town, bet it’s a good jumping off point.
I bet it can. One of my friends is a map designer - hand draws maps for authors, generally fantasy books and the like. He’s managed to get so good at it he spends most of his time doing that and working trade shows. Makes more money in a 3 day show than he does in a month of regular work. He has a “regular” job still but mostly because he’s been there for like 7 years, so it’s a sense of loyalty more than necessity.
AG is actually really good for growin tomatoes…so i imagine its good for cannabis, still i think your macro nutes are lacking …not sure you should have enough nitrogen …there could be a lockout scenario goin on …i would dump your res and mix a fresh batch
there are a lot of contributing factors to PH rise…most of nutrients you feed is acidic so there will be a rise …usually soil acts as a buffer to ph but because you in hydroponics you will naturally see a rise …organic matter can also play a part so if for example your res is hot enough to produce algae growth you will see a spike in ph, you can in fact get nutrients that will stabilize ph like AN ph perfect
