If using soil like miracle grow it has plenty of nutrients for up to two months I’d wait at less a month if not more get a TDS meter use RO water flush real good test run off with meter that will give you an idea of where your plants are at nutrients wise I didn’t feed any nutrients for first month soil had everything you need but you should get CAL/MAG asap if using RO water learned that the hard way
Don’t mean to over do it on advice but read up on TDS and PH keep them in the right range and lots of light and fresh air you’ll do great
Happy growing
Nice. My next grow is going to veg about this long. 5-gallon, I’m assuming?
That was my rookie mistake 1.5 gallon which is pushing it and I have to water daily next grow seven gallon smart pots
I will say she’s doing good maybe six more weeks if everything stays on course
Next girls are started I LST them not scrog like first one here is them picture keeping them in small pots to stunt them till I’m ready for flower on also FIM one of them
I’m trying out different methods of growing to find best way for me as my tent is 3x3x6
After the next grow trying out autos I love learning so this is a great way to stay sharp lol
I am grateful for all of your advice and like you I’m paying very close attention to every step. So, I have a couple questions for you:
What is RO water? (I’m using distilled)
What is a TDS meter?
And is CAL/MAG something I can get from a department store?
I was so scetched about giving 16oz. of water as advised above but so far the ladies seem happy
Hey, ain’t she lookin’ good today.
Mine are about the same age. A few days ago I had one looking just the same way. I wanted to let the container get lighter but found that roots were mostly at the bottom . Where there were no roots the dirt was wet. So I just put a little in the tray and let her pull it in and boom !, they were praying again. Two days later and they are booming now.
RO is reverse osmosis not steam distilled and filtered RO removes most if not all containment check label on distilled water
TDS is total dissolved solids its a must to test water before nutrients after adding nutrients and run off start at say 200 then step up to no more then 1500 parts per million over whole grow if you have hydrophobic store they will have everything you require PH meter is a must as well to high Ph and you lock out plant abilities to use nutrients you provide range is around 6.5 to 6.8 from my experience my plan last two weeks RO water only Ph at 7.0 for the flush
CAL / MAG is calcium and magnesium use whole grow till flush because RO water doesn’t have calcium or magnesium in it plant needs both
Don’t worry 16oz. Water is good should have 20% run off from bottom drain holes that Way you know water got to bottom of the pot to roots plus need run off to test soil Ph and tds levels
Awesome! I did not know any of this. These ladies might have a chance after all. Thanks for your help

Wanna know what’s weird? After watering all of them with 16oz. I noticed all but 1 drained at the bottom. Checked the drain holes, nothing out of the ordinary.
She drained NO water…
Tip
Use pencil or anything long and thin poke holes to help drain and let’s air down to roots
It helps I do it weekly just about five Hole it may break roots but the results are well worth the risk
Looks like you are watering right around the stem of plant looking at the dryness of the top of the soil . I think you would do well to water closer to the edge of the cup until you see a little run off. You wont have to water as often and it will encourage the roots to spread out.
