Help it's too big (never thought I complain about that

Hey all
I made my own cross of Super OG auto x Jack Herer Auto.
I only grew in soil and the plants came out at 12 to 24 inches.
Well I switched to DWC and I started them November 17 2020
On December 17 they were 24 inches (pretty standard for my grows)
As of right now December 27 2020 they are 43 inches.
I know this sounds great but they are 8 inches from my lights and I can’t raise them up any higher.
I’m running a 600 w LED and a 315 CMH.
They are starting to flower so trimming them is out of the question and I didn’t expect them to be so big I can’t really tie them down with out crowding the other plants.
I will have to move my cucumber plant out for sure (yes DWC cucumbers are not to bad.
Here is what I’m up against any suggestions would be great.

The cucumber pic is just to show you DWC cucumbers are growing great as well lol.

How’s the main stalk? Flexible for LST or already stiffened up?

They are pretty stiff now.
I can’t believe they got that big I thought big autos topped out at about 1 meter but these ones are 1 meter and 10 centimeters and still seem to be growing.

Maybe try super cropping. IMO seems to be the only option. Unless you can ditch the tent and just grow in a room.

I’ve never super cropped before. Not sure how to I’ll have to do some reading lol.
the bad part is I’m set up in an insulated cold room converted to grow room the lights are at the ceiling.

Pinch bend tie down repeat…
Ditch the cucumber :sunglasses::v:

Tie twine to the main stem that you should’ve topped and tie it down to the edge of your pots. Everyday pull it tighter if it needs it. That will prevent it growing up and create sort of a J or an S in the stem. Good luck

I guess I’ll be tying it down today and hope it’s not to close to the light.
Thanks all!

How did you end up training the plant?

@neofirebird @Breezy @fano_man @GrowinMass
well I beat it up pretty bad, broke stems taped them together so they kinda stood up, tied branches down.
In the end I got 3oz dry weight off 1 auto flower and to think I was getting about 1/4 oz dry weight in soil.
I was going to be happy with hydro if I could have doubled that to 1/2 oz so at 3 oz I’m over joyed. :joy:
I’m a light weight but my wife can smoke like no tomorrow (once she went through 7 oz in one month) when she tried it she asked me what I gave her I told her it was my cross and she told me she got a good buzz from it so to me that’s a success!
I want to thank you all for your input.
I’ve started a new auto and have killed the cucumber so I can bring the light way down now to keep the plant shorter.
I have also been LST this one using coated garden wire to make the branches grow straight out the sides. (because now I know what growing in hydro does lol)

I always wondered about auto breeding … did u acquire regular autos or did you have to force herm… for some reason I thought all autos were female or feminized I should say … but now I think about I think I heard this before and also heard you can clone autos …I know you can… but without being able to manipulate the photo period what’s the point isn’t a clone gonna he on same clock as the moms? @Nicky u got some auto info for me. How does one breed autos and do autos come in regular and if so … I’m acting green because I never get any males and when I do I make the determination before flowering there all gone by that time (the 6 I have had in almost 3yrs)photos and regulars at that… can u colloidal autos… and can u clone autos in flower for a crop bigger then the bud you are monster cropping… thanks in advance

I just top them first, then use plant wire to tie them to the side of the pot. Every other day if not every day you have to re adjust the tie downs. Once I have her growing out instead of up I usually bring out the trellis net and place right above my ladies and let them grow into it. You do have to continuously re tuck as they grow. I also have only grown photo fems and a bag seed, so no experience with autos.

@ob lol I definitely read your post wrong haha. I thought you were asking me how I train. I gotta stop getting to high and reading to fast!

To have truly reliable autoflowers there is much more to this but here is the basic idea.

Step 1: Take a standard cannabis plant and cross it with an autoflowering variety. It doesn’t matter which supplies the pollen as long as one is male and the other female.

Step 2: Grow out the resulting seeds. They should act as if they were standard seeds. Select the best male and at least one female and cross them together.

Step 3: Grow out those seeds under growth (no long dark period) lighting. Due to recessive genes, there should be about 75% that don’t autoflower and 25% that do. The more seeds planted, the closer the results should be to the 75%-25% ratio.

I reversed a super OG kush auto fem with C/S.
I started my other (last) super OG kush auto fem and she didn’t make it.
seeing as I had a Jack Herer auto and a mango auto going I figured I’d hit a branch of each, no sense letting the pollen go to waste.
As far as cloning your right the age clock doesn’t stop so really no point in cloning.
you would probably get a smaller yeild.
Autos do come in regular seeds I have some Bubba kush reg autos and Gorilla glue reg autos.
I keep them put away incase my making feminized seeds somehow messed up.
breeding them is like photo plants make pollen and apply but the timing has to be a little better because you can’t control went an auto flips to flower. (but you can store the pollen for later use)

Last part about the Autos when breeding Autos I remember hearing there must be at least 10% ruderalis jeans left to be autoflowering if you have an Autoflower that you’re starting with that’s close to 10% from a breeder and you crossed it with a regular may want the 10% cut into half and be 5% thus losing its autoflowering traits would you have to breed it back several times to solidify the auto jeans back into it because to me when you cross your cutting everything in half and if you’re already border lining losing the auto trait then you’ll have to back read I would believe I might be wrong but I don’t know
