Ah right I didn’t know that iv always read to sgaft them in the big pot on auto’s as it was risky but I shall give this ago next time, how big of a small pot would you recommend? Or would a propagator do? I have one but didn’t end up using it cause of what I said above, here’s my nutrien schedule what do you think,

Honestly. I am really not sure how to give advise here. If those are 4 weeks old like I think I am reading. Every thing from today forward will have to be done perfect to get a small plant out of them. And yes. I have been here my self. Things aren’t always roses over here either. :pensive: There is a little to know before me giving my thoughts on what do do.I hate to ask. But are you in soil? Sorry, I tend to loose track with all the threads in here.

ok, sorry about that. I thought I was reading they were 4 weeks old. I think I have old dude brain here
I would not be giving then any thing but water for the first 2 weeks. That can really drag some auto strains to a stop.
I know @Big123 is great at starting autos directly in soil

I would wait for @Big123 to chime in. He is the only one that comes to mind for starting an auto in soil and also a final pot.

Okay thank you, what do you grow yours in if don’t mind me asking? @Not2SureYet

I have only used coco since I started. So I try to direct others to soil growers I know. I would hate to ruin some ones grow by giving out info I know I have never had experience with my self. I do more autos than photos. So I am comfortable helping with non soil issues.

3 gallon is as large as I would go with an auto.

Greetings,

Less is always more on when it comes to nutrients. When starting in bigger containers one must be careful to not overwater. I have never tried using the pellets, I just soak in water, then plant 1/4-1/8 of an inch deep in soil, cover and keep moist with spray bottle. I start photos in solo cups, autos in 5 gallon minimum, run indoors for a month and throw outside, transplanting them into forever homes.

Here’s my last auto journal, I ended up transplanting some into bigger containers than I had originally planned. I add extra peat in my soil to make it less nitrogen hot as seedlings are sensitive to it. The earliest I fertilize beyond what’s in the soil is 4-6 weeks old. The plants need to develop root system to grow more than they need to be fertilized.

Thanks @Not2SureYet

That’s good to hear cheers :+1: don’t think the 4th ones going to make it, but think 3 would be a bit better even though still going to struggle but abit more room for them I suppose, see how it goes :joy:

Yep. Agree with @kellydans. Looks good so far.
Just a note .
In future Please try to post pics in natural light. That way we can see the true colours on leaves.

Hey, I’m late to the party but might have something to add. First, yes, that plant is toast. I also grow hot chile peppers and we’d call that a “helmet”, i.e. when the seed casing doesn’t come off. Two thoughts–first, make a weak camomile tea and soak your seed in it for about 24 hours before planting–this all but eliminates helmets. Second–I quit doing the paper towel thing and just plant my seeds directly into seed mix/soil now. I have only had one seed ever that didn’t germinate. Compared to lots of them I’ve killed/damaged trying to transfer from the paper towel to soil. Just a thought, but seeds have been germinating without our help for a loooooong time! Good luck and hope the new seeds are going well!

It’s hard to get a pic in natural light as it’s a dark room it’s in, tent blocks the light too, but heres two with flash @kellydans @Oldguy ,
