Hello, fellow home growers. I need help choosing a strain that can tolerate my extreme climate. I live in a Sub-Tropical region. For the summer grow season it is 95° Fahrenheit daytime 80° night time. From May to September, with daily tropical storms. I have tried numerous strains. The heat always causes issues, plus mold, and bugs. I tried growing inside a screened enclosure, the misting of the rain caused mold. Plants would not dry out after a good rain. I have great sunshine and a long growing season, I just need a strain that can deal with the heat and humidity.
Sounds like you need to prune off inner growth and stretch them girls out so they can breath
A strain that can set in the powerful sunlight for 8-10 hours at 96° Fahrenheit and then withstand 2 or 3 tropical storms. I at least try to bring them indoors during the hurricanes.
Have you tried a landrace sativa like durban?
I bet the Durban could take it. I just grew 2 and my temps fluctuated between 80 and 90… @Naturalmedsman @oldbud1
I always have issues with bud rot and the Durban was pretty resistant. It did take forever to flower and finish outdoors though.
Maybe also a fast strain just to have less time for stuff to go wrong. Or fast auto like Lowryder is the only one I know but she’s a little on the smaller side, but again maybe short will help against wind
