Help a newbie with their first harvest!

Hi there! This is my first grow ever, I have zero idea what strain this is, as it came from a seed I found in my stash of mixed buds. I kinda approached this grow as if it works it works… and so far it has. I estimate I’m about 8 weeks into flowering. Am I ready to harvest? Or do I have a week or so yet? Please let me know!

Welcome to the forum.

Most plants will be ready after 8 to 10 weeks of flowering time.

Be sure that you are looking at trichomes on flower rather than those on sugar leaves. Those on sugar leaves will go amber earlier.

Id say you still have a couple weeks to go. You want nearly all those white hairs to turn brown and recede back into the calyx’s then start checking trichomes for cloudy to amber depending on preference. You want to check trichomes on the calyx’s or deep into the buds. The trichomes on sugar leaves can be deceiving they can show amber weeks before the plant is actually ready.

Welcome. The fun is only beginning.
Forum contributors have posted much on harvest, wash, hang, and drying.
Recommend searching and preparing for “your” harvest routine.
Jars, bags, hangers, and RH meters (all useful).
I grew weed in the 80’s and never knew there was a drying routine, beyond dry and smoke (usually in a day). Planning 4 months for “cure” was new to me.
