Currently doing my first indoor grow of four plants, planted at roughly the same time but they’re growing at very different rates. I’m already expecting they’ll be ready for harvest at different times as well. Given that I had expected to use my grow tent as the space for drying, I’m wondering how I will be able to dry one plant while others are still flowering. Have other encountered this? Anything to be done to either get them to harvest at the same time or advice on drying + growing at the same time? Thanks!
I use a drying unit , tent space is valuable for me. I have a herbs now dryer but there’s also a wedryer. And I made a seedling box out of a cardboard box and @beardless was saying a cardboard box could be made into a dryer unit.
Yup. Dont dry in the tent with plants in flower (ie LIGHT). U want it dark. And at night ur humidity (around live plants) will spike. Not an environment conducive to drying marijuana at all.
Also welcome to ILGM. @hogfarm
interesting. so the idea here is just put a box like this (presumably covered to keep out light) in the corner of a room? what about the smell?
Happy birthday ! what happened to our Baltimore Ravens have always been a fan.
dun wanna expose trichomes to bright light n heat…not good thing.
That seems to be a common thing if you got more than one plant going at the same time in tent. I have a smaller tent that I haven’t used in a long time been thinking about buying me 4 inch exhaust fan and filter an just use it for drying only. I need to filter to take care of the odor.
You know if you set it up for drying, it’s only a matter of time before something alive migrates in. @kellydans
I would only set it up for probably 10 to 12 days. Get a nice slow dry temperature an humidity controlled then I would tear it back down and box it up , till next time I needed it.
Yup. Its in a closet with a fan to keep air circulating in the closet and the cut outs act like the flaps on a tent. Pushes air in and out the top. Still smells so if thats an issue then filter and dry tent is the best bet to rid the smell
You could put a small inline fan and carbon filter on the cardboard box easy. After all it is just a small room. It also doesnt need to be totally dark, but just not bright or sunny. A buddy of mine in Victoria BC hung a plant in a cement crawlspace. It turned out wicked! Great smoke!
Along the same line of questions, what about the 48hrs of darkness prior to harvest? Where could one do that without interrupting the light cycle of the other plants?
In a closet? Or a second tent with no light? Just keep the airflow up. Humidity spikes at lights out
I’m in the same exact situation I will have to skip on the 48 hr dark period except the last pla t and I’m thinking of just drying the closet if not my idea was to get a sealed canvas portable garmet rack $25 and hang it in there with a dehumidifier
Cant you just take your plant out of the tent and put it in a black bag, or closet for 24 hours before chopping her. It seems excessive that you have to wait minutes before your light comes back on. Do you have to finish the 18 hour cycle on autoflowers.
I use a Wedryer. Can hang anywhere. If get 1 go with an xl. Sealed/carbon filter. Xl can take several pounds wet. Buds come out just right. I hit jar at 65-67 % and burp to 64. Then lockem up. Grove bags.
So many things to buy, so little time.
No such thing on Amazon. Please wRight the product properly please. Ty
Wedryer. Wedryer dot com. Amazon does not have everything even though everyone thinks they do. Used to have this. The S1 model too small for big harvests.
Edit: sorry had to break the link. Dot is .
