Harvesting At Different Times

Hey everyone. Happy 420!!

I have a question about harvesting. I’m in a bit of a situation. I have 3 autos that are currently in about week 8. They’re rolling along nicely however, I have one of them that appears as though it might be ready for harvest sooner than the other two. But I’m not sure yet.

I have limited space and I’m in a 3x3 tent. Is it possible to chop it and keep it hanging/drying in the same tent while the other two finish? I live in a pretty humid environment so hanging them in a garage or another room is pretty much out of the question. Also, I’m on the road a lot so I can’t tend to them as often as I like. I guess I just want to know if having the light on will be a problem for the one drying out if it does happen to finish earlier than the others.

I’ll drop the link for my grow log below if you need to see my specs. I have it all listed in the first post.

Thank you for the help!

Light will degrade the terpenes so you don’t want to do that.
You need a spot out of direct light, not necessarily totally dark but no direct sunlight or grow lights.
I have a pantry we use sometimes, or I just hang them outside the grow tent with the other room lights off.

Investigate (and potentially invest in) a WeDryer XL. Possibly the best $100 I ever spent. A real game changer.

I harvested one yesterday and it is in a paper bag. One to be harvested later today and it will go in an hanging herb drying rack, probably in the same room as the tent and hanging behind it.

Thanks.

@Newt I’ll look into the dryer! Thank you!

I don’t have anywhere else to hang them as I am trying to be discreet but I might look into asking my wife politely. She’s already complaining about the smell in my office. Although I am really liking it. They smell amazing so far. Very sweet and citrus like.

What about a paper bag in the tent? Would that be good or will the light still penetrate the bag and damage the terpenes?

Thanks again for the help so far everyone!

Oh… the tent is in the closet. And the closet it 3.5x3.5 with a 3x3 tent. It’s a tight fit already. I leave the door slightly open so the intake can pull air in from the office. Exhausting into the attic at the moment. But some smell still gets out even though it’s charcoal filtered. Not bad in my opinion but when I open the tent to feed the girls, BAM! It’s lights out for the nose. LOL! Definitely a difference. I can tell it’s working pretty well though.

I just looked at the Wedryer @Newt

I think this may have just solved my dilema.

Thank you!

It wouldnt be a good idea to hang it in the tent with ur other plants cause it would dry to quickly and it will have a good chance of mold
