Harvest or Wait?

Hello
How close do you think I am? (I have the tric charts. No need to send)

This girl is about 9 weeks in flower. It’s supposed to be a photo but it decided to start flowering on its own under a 18/6 light schedule. Currently under 12/12.

It shows significant Ruderalis genetics (So I’m told) so I don’t know if it will have any potency.

I’m looking for an energetic high. I have plenty of couch weed already.

Can you tell anything from the pics? Not in a hurry to harvest if it’s not ready.

I would give it another week

Seeing allot of glass/milky I am w @Smokesdaily another week or two…. And yes heavy on the ruderalis gene that one is! I’ll bet it’s fire when it’s done!

@Thumper @Smokesdaily
Thanks.

I have no experience with Ruderalis and actually had never heard of it before a few weeks ago.

What I’ve read on line is that Ruderalis are weak and contain hardly any THC. So I’m confused on your “fire” reply?

Am I wrong about what I think I read on the web about Ruderalis?

Not necessarily. Youll still get potent bud off a ruderalis dominant plant. Yield just wont be as much

@ChittyChittyBangin

Do you also think it needs just another week or does it need more.

Want the most energetic high. Got enough couch lock weed

@HotAndHumid with the cloudy to clear ratio from what i can see, right now youd get a racey paranoia type feeling. If you want max thc then yes, at least a week.

Thanks!!!

Focus on the little guys.

The big will turn brown (amber + aged) and easily be visible.

More time and more love, enjoy.

Here are updated pics of my ruderalis influenced plant. Clearer with mic stand

Looks like a lot of clear and at least 2 weeks away?? I think it’s 9 weeks in flower.

What do you guys think? Wanting energetic high as much as possible

Too clear, for now.

I agree… keep on growing on for a few weeks

Agreed! Nice pics, but allot of glassy trichomes.

Take some for testing.
Leave the rest for slightly more cloudy
3 weeks?
I am working on the 12 week plan, if I can last it out.

Take trichomes pictures of deep in the bud not the sugar leaves, they lie. Trichomes on the sugar leaves turn amber sooner and can fool you into harvesting too early.

It’s been two weeks since I checked in with this plant (original post). I think it’s now about 11 weeks in flower.

As a reminder, this plant shows a lot of ruderails genetics.

I’ve been out of town for several days and thought I’d come home and see the plant ready. Instead it seems to have a significant amount of new pistols. I’m guessing it’s foxtails.

Maybe my light was too bright. It now is showing about 500 ppdf.

I don’t have experience with ruderails or foxtails.

The pistols look cloudy but with only a trace of amber.

Should I let her go and wait for the new pistols to darken? Or should they be cut off if/when the plant is ready for harvest??

If youre cloudy, id go ahead and pull. Youll continue to shoot out white hairs… go by trichomes

Thanks.

When I do decide to pull, do I cut off the foxtails and discard or just dry it with the rest

I’ve struggled with this plant. Honestly hasn’t been my favorite but I suppose I’m learning something.

Some plants are just prone to foxtailing. Turning down the lights at the end helps. But If you’re in the harvest window go ahead and harvest. A few foxtails wont hurt the quality but a whole bunch of foxtails might.

Checked my girl this morning and I felt she was ready. Plenty of amber (I want energetic and not couch lock)

This plant has been a challenge. Supposed to be Acapulco Gold but showed strong Ruderalis genes.

Couldn’t stop the foxtails.

Time will tell if any potency. Honestly I’m glad this one is done.

Curious what you guys think. Honest and blunt is fine. Helps me learn.
