You should start running them off Watering until water comes out the bottom.
Catch the water and measure the runoff for ppm and pH numbers. This will help assist you in knowing how much nutrients are left in your soil and if your pH of your soil is in the correct zone.
The sooner the better. A good reliable pen is the very first thing you’ll ever need to buy before you even buy dirt. It’s your lifeline to the plant’s health.
It’s going to be the only tool to use to tell when your soil has ran out of nutrients. It will also tell you your pH of your soil so you know it’s in range for nutrient uptake
Whatever you do do not buy any of the below they are worthless
And is there much of a difference in the one u recommended versus the ac infinity one? Thats the one i was aiming for (trusted brand/quick delivery to me)
If im just paying for the name ill get the amazon one
More than likely you’re not going to need nutrients for a couple few more weeks. But you’re correct. You’re not going to use any nutrients until after you get your pen and your soil says it’s time.
I’m assuming when you do transplant you’ll be transplanting into the same type soil? If so you’ll get another 4 weeks of the new soils pre-charged nutrients before you will ever have to crack open a bottle of nutrients.
Well i usually move them from the seedling mix onto the second mix which states 5 weeks of nutrients, it has nice reviews from growers on EU forumns.
Then theres a stage 3 mix for bloom ive been contemplating for their final pot which has 6 weeks.
Just concerned it leaves a larger room for error when using my own nutes, cant imagine ill get the highest yield possible from the just soil alone. Maybe a 1/4 serving as others usually suggest to see how things go initially?
When you have pre-charged soil and your plant looks as if it needs something we can always slip it in.
Nevertheless, recharge nutrients are nutrients and you don’t want to overfeed your plants. I do get what you’re saying 10 12 weeks of no bottled nutrients makes you concerned on your yields etc.
If you remember this morning on the other thread I suggested the advanced nutrients products for a entry level grower. If you ordered those nutrients or intend to in the future then there are a few additives that you can slip into your watering that will further advance your plants without disturbing your pre-charged nutrients
I bought every nute you listed haha (gotta get yourself a code or something)
Listen my current situation isnt going anywhere until my stuff arrives tomorrow, and i can see youre helping out the other guy whos stuff did arrive, go help him or chill yourself out and ill put up the bat signal if needed.
Hey missy! Little update for ya, still waiting on that pen but soil is holding strong for now.
They are two temperamental yokes just like my daughters haha
Four weeks tomorrow, was either gonna transplant them or top, think theyre ready for that? Done it before but much later in veg but now seeing people here do it much earlier.
I dont know if you remember, we were talking about that stage 2 soil, but its very clayish, even with perlite in its still not nice and loamy the way i like it. Was thinkng of just using the seedling soil again seeing as ill be using my nutes, or is that naive thinking?
Dinky I’m glad they’re doing well. I agree it’s probably time to transplant. Unfortunately, I know nothing about your soils. Correct me if I’m wrong. You have available two types of soil.
1.) some type of seedling soil?
What’s the name of it?
2.) you have some type of clay soil
What’s the name of it?
Its called Westland John Innes potting soil. Im currently in the seedling soil and have the stage 2 potting mix at hand for transplant but after feeling it im not so sure
If the soil is airy enough to take your plant from a seed to where it is now it’s suitable for the rest of the grow.
You will absolutely have to monitor your runoff pH and ppm when transplanted so you can keep up with him pre charged nutrients. That’s going to be very important
Hey girl! So having a little difficulty selecting the pen from the site i buy from, not sure if im going to choose everything i need or order too much lol. Would it be cool if i linked the site i buy from and maybe u could help me with my shopping? An irishman always repays with kindness
