Guaranteed To Be A šŸ’© Show!

It is a way for locals in that area of the world to package it for transportation and for sale. Wasn’t a gimmick just was what they did/do.
Rather buy it on a stick than in plastic…just sayin.
Haven’t seen it for many years around here.

There’s so many different versions of Thai stick out there and methods of people making it. I tend to think my method is gold. After taking two hits you won’t be able to say the word gimmick much less spell it.

It’s very simple yet the process is very time consuming.

I start with 12 inch shish kabob metal skiers. I use metal as they slide out easy. The buds have to be a certain consistency or it will come out funky or break apart when removing skewers string. This is why a formed larfy bud is perfect.

I take partially dried larf buds slide them on the skewer until I have about a 3/4 of an inch round approximately 5 in Long. I then grab a piece of parchment paper and I roll the paper around the bud and pull tightly the bud will shrink till about 1/4 - 1/2 of an inch. I used twine and wrap it around the parchment paper tightly and put them in the refrigerator for about 30 days.

Once taken out of the refrigerator I unwrap the twine and take off the parchment paper. The buds are now semi-compressed and hold their form. I then heat up the hash oil and use a red sable hair thin paintbrush and paint a layer of hash oil on the kebab. I use two pieces of wood to hold the kebab up in the air so I can evenly coat this. The oil dries quickly I take a teaspoon of kief and I turn the kebab while sprinkling the kief onto the tacky hash oil kabob.

I let this dry for 24 hours where it sits. I keep a baggie full of original jumbo size fan leaves in my refrigerator. I’ll cut each leaf into sections that have two fingers and I wrap the kabob with the fan leaves until the kabob is fully covered. By saving the big fan leaves it doesn’t take many leaves to do this.

Once wrapped halfway I heat the hash oil and brush a layer over the fan leaves and repeat the wrapping of the kebab bud for the second half and of course using the melted hash oil to paint the leaves.

I leave it where it sits on a block of wood so it’s elevated nothing’s touching it for 24 hours. After 24 hours the hash oil is like a glass coating on the kebab holding the leaves perfectly. I personally repeat the heating of the hash oil and give it a second coat (maybe not necessary but I do it to assure the leaves don’t come off) I let that sit for 24 hours and come back

I then wrap it in parchment paper once more and tie it with slight pressure to assure it’s tight with the twine but not crushing it. I then placed them in a small but long Tupperware tote close the lid and put it in the dark closet for about 3 months minimum. This allows everything to be combined as one and the weed cures.

Hash oil is not the easiest thing to come by so I’ve substituted it with sugar water or cigar glue. Also using the metal skewer instead of wood assures the skewer will never get stuck. I’ve had many of the wood sticks break and/or get stuck

I will guarantee you this. You an 8 of your friends can try and smoke this but generally after two hits you get lost in your backyard.

Using a good strong strain that’s been ambered about 40% an generously sprinkling a good amount of kief is always going to assure the paralyzing effect.

There’s a lot of ways to make it, things to use or not and the method of doing it will dictate the outcome of your finish stick. In the '80s if you were lucky to find one you paid $125 bucks for it and chances are it would be years if not a lifetime before you found one again.

The first time I tried this was a total disaster. The method above is the trial an error end result. The parchment paper works very good for me and that’s why I use it. The metal skewers same thing it just works better than wood.

I learned a valuable lesson here in week 7 of flower with the 2 Purple Lemonades

Early in flower the 2 girls had an abundance of yellowing fan leaves that look as if they wanted more calmag. As most of you know this is common for some plants to require more or less of certain things.

Nevertheless the plants continue to grow well but the fan leaves were always yellow. I just continued to feed it normally with a little extra calcium magnesium. What I didn’t realize was that 420 FastBuds genetics on this particular purple lemonade stain the plants required very very little nitrogen. I didn’t realize this until I visited some grow diary forums and started reviewing this strain.

Just about every grower that grew this strain made the same mistake some called it early some called it later. Apparently the strand is incredibly sensitive to nitrogen and the leaves are almost identical to a calcium magnesium issue

I’m sure that the leaves dying off, yellowing ect as my two girls did has affected the yield. I thought it was very strange on the bud production. Although they are extremely sticky, wonderful smelling, rock hard, and super huge. If You notice they didn’t stack much. I’m not too sure the consequences of using too much nitrogen would do to the plant but I’m sure it has something to do with that.

Catching it now is apparently a little late to do anything except learning valuable lesson. The moral to this story is, just when you think you got this the girls are going to throw something at you!

I believe the smoke will still be incredible. As I said I don’t know what the consequences of excessive nitrogen would do to a plant. I still can’t believe something named purple lemonade smells like blueberry pie filling. Um

That’s some enhanced Thai sticks for sure with your process.
Freakin work of art!

Love when that happens

Thanks for the write up on your process.

Also it’s not a very big deal but I think some of my plants are further along than what I say (Week 7 of flower)

I keep a daily log on girl. With mostly everything planted the same day and pop the same day they pretty much have the same start day all six of them. If you’ve been here since the beginning you may recall a few of these girls started flowering in early week 2 of veg.

Going through my documents on each girl today I realized I gave each girl 10 days for seedling stage I also gave each girl 4weeks a veg but they only veg for 2 weeks.

The chemdog started flowering 10 days into veg (because I sat on her and smashed her) the gorilla cookie started to flower by in 13 days of veg. The purple lemonades started to flower 15 days into veg I simply gave everything 4 weeks of veg keep it simple. This would be the reason everything looks done or close to I believe I’m more into week 9 then week 7

Like I said it’s not going to matter much I just simply need to start paying attention to try come production and acting accordingly. Never a dull moment

All right guys, this particular strain 420 Fast Buds claims she’s done in simply 8 weeks of flower on average. (That and a dollar will get you a glass of water with no ice)

t’s their fastest stain. It’s actually closer to nine weeks.

I’m blind in one eye I can’t see out of the other. What do you see ?

The smell of gorilla cookies is incredible. It smells nothing like a monkey or a cookie. It smells like you just went out and picked fresh boysenberries rinse them off and started eating them. InCredible fruity smell

I personally don’t see any clear (but I’m blind) I see cloudy and maybe 2% Amber. She definitely looks close in my eyes. I believe I’m going to stop feeding her and simply give her water for the next week. (Such a midget she’s only going to eat once a week anyway)

This Green Crack #2 is getting bigger everyday. She’s already stretched two times! She just hit 5 ft tall and I had to remove her from the crate and put her on the floor in the tent so she would get sufficient lighting. She is huge.

That’s what I’m seeing as well

The plant is a midget 15 in tall tops. The buds are so fat and so stacked it’s unbelievable for such a small plant. I’m thinking an easy two zips dry.

Rumor has It the Gorilla Cookie strain is one of the most pungent 420 FastBuds has to offer. Since they’re so little of it I was thinking of letting this girl go to about 40% -50% Amber extreme couch lock (lights are on but nobody’s home type :poop:)

I do believe the opportunity presents itself and I should take advantage of it. :face_with_peeking_eye:

Amazing for such a lil baby!!!

Look how big and fat them buds are. The only problem I have with this girl she’s not giving me rock hard dense buds. Nevertheless, I am going to let her go to 40%-50% Amber. You got to love the midgets

Speaking of dense buds… what is the best way to achieve that. I noticed on my most recent harvest, a lot of the buds are fairly fluffy.
In your experience, what helps most with the thickening up of the buds???

Are those tats on your toes? If so that’s hilarious

Pretty interesting find on those lemonade plants. Albeit some yellowing the buds did stack up really well on that one so pending on how close to you are to harvest, might not be out of of the question to just wait until the trichomes are at where you want them and start your flush.

Can’t imagine you would mess them up much if you opted to just go that route - but given your work here I’ll just happily tag along and see how it goes

The plants require phosphorus and potassium at slightly higher levels during flowering so I make sure that I always add a little extra of those two. Rather than burning up my base nutrients I use advanced nutrients big buds which is nothing but phosphorus and potassium works great!

Other than that your environment plays the key most important is your light having adequate light will definitely dense the buds up. I tend to grow a lot of big girls and I really need to invest in some side lighting as my bottom buds are generally larfy on them big bushy girls

Those are some nasty toes brother. They needed that tattoo. Fortunately they’re not my feet.

The purple lemonade was a good find. Unfortunately I didn’t realize until week 7 that the girls don’t like nitrogen. They’re one of the most sensitive to nitrogen strands that you’ll find. (That’s why all the yellowing) nevertheless they got some nice dense buds once they’re done I’m sure it’ll be fire!

I will definitely try this purple lemonade again in the future and adjusting the nitrogen levels.

As always, thank you for your invaluable information!!! Was thinking about investing in some side lighting to boost the lighting. Especially for those lower buds!!!

That my friend would be a very wise investment.

What would you use for side lighting?
