GSCE Auto 17 weeks

This GSCE autoflower is17 weeks above ground and still won’t get amber. I think she has ran her course, there is a branch where the buds are starting to die. Anyone ever have this happen? I’m guessing I need to go ahead and chop her down. I like to do a 12 -14 day flush but I am wondering if it will do any good now that it is starting to die. I have read where some people chop in the dark before the lights come on,claiming the nutes are still in the roots. What’s your thoughts on this?

That’s curious, I see a bit of amber in just about every trichome photo you’ve shared. It’s not overwhelmingly amber, but they’re mature enough that I’d be entirely comfortable chopping.

Honestly if I were in your position, I’d go ahead and give her 12-24 hrs of darkness, plain water if she’s due for a watering, and give her the axe this time tomorrow. The trichomes continue to mature for a little while after the chop (maybe 12-36 hours? I don’t know the exact number, but as long as she still stinks like chlorophyll I believe the trichomes continue to ripen).

You’ll have a nice potent bud, albeit perhaps not 100% couch-lock.

By the way, the best measurement for age is weeks of flower. Since she’s an auto Im going to assume she’s been flowering for between 8 and 11 weeks (since an autoflower tends to kick into flower around the 6 week marker but that’s kind of an arbitrary average). Neither 8 nor 11 is an outrageous amount of time.

Very nice!!

First off very nice, I really liked how my GSCX have way more color then mine did. I would second above I just grew 3 GSCX Autos 2 finished around 14 weeks, last one at that 17-18 weeks, so not to crazy long. But looks great, I’d say get ready looks like will be a good harvest, best of luck

It’s hard to tell much because of the lighting, but… Is this bud rot?

No bud rot, just drying up. It looks like the whole plant is dying. I can see a difference in the whole plant in just the past 6 hours.

I’d harvest it. I think that the issue is that there aren’t enough leaves left for photosynthesis to occur.

Edit: And good luck!

I also see a bit of Amber I think she’s ready. Very nice plant. Good luck

Yes! I just chopped GSCE auto after 17 weeks. She’s mostly done drying. AMBER trichomes were limited and really believe I kept her much longer than I should just because of lack of Amber
