I see what you’re saying she definitely held on to some nutrients from your last feed to this feed. There is a possibility that something broke loose and you’re getting the salt content from it.
Here’s what I would do when it’s time to feed her again…
1.) Make the next feed w/no calmag to 600 (1 gallon only) pH it to 6.5 set it to the side
2.) take a gallon of tap water ph to 6.5
3.) run the gallon of tap water you just made through the plant slowly. Empty your catch tray
4.) now take the first gallon of 600 PPM feed and slowly run it through.
I know for sure you do not need flushed. You’ve only feed her a few times. I’ll get the same thing from time to time with one of my girls. I just do what I told you to do and it takes care of it.
They’re autoflowers they’re very finicky eaters. It’s truly nothing to worry about. I’m pretty confident doing what I asked about will fix her up.
The plant looks good. Love your little journal document thingy that you’re keeping track of your runoff and you’re able to identify when something didn’t look right.
These are all signs of someone who’s paying attention and I like that
I’ve been using the full line dirty dozen Fox farm nutrients for 5 years now four grows a year
Perpetual grow
And now I’m bored of it so I’m going to try general hydroponics flora trio and I’ll let you all know The difference between these girl scout cookies The two girl scout cookie grows before that which were even better without the 102° heat
Just to try something new and see a difference I will post and let you see the difference
Fox farms is good stuff just use less than what it says
They’re trying to sell their products so they want you to use more than you need
And it’s true less is more
Just an update on how the grow is going. I did what you recommended watering it first without nutes and again with them. I barely got any runoff from the first watering because the soil dried up a bit faster this time so it really absorbed the first gallon. Then on the second gallon with nutes I got significant runoff, almost overflowed the bottom tray but I was able to collect it all. I recorded all the data in my chart. I also decided to raise the light intensity today from 8 to 9 since I feel she won’t get burnt after a big watering like this and I need to work up to 10 for full flowering. Do you think it would be a good idea to add some more dirt to the top of the soil now that it has settled quite a bit from the start? I’m just a little concerned as I can see a few of the roots showing a little bit. She looks to be going into bloom nicely now, significantly hairier and getting taller.
Oh yeah trimming dry or wet is a preference
Trim when they’re dry is a big pain in the ass takes forever The leaves curl up into the buds
I’ve done them both ways gotten lazy didn’t trim until after I hung them
Now I trim before they go into the dark before they’re hung…
Okay quick rundown what I do is I flush them
ThenI put black strap molasses unsulfured organic food grade by the way about two tablespoons to a gallon
Then I cut all the fan leaves off and put the plant in the dark for 3 days stress it out cause more trichomes
After 3 days in the dark they stay in the dark get cut and hung whole
I checked them every few days and then when the stems bend and don’t Make a snapping sound I put the them in brown paper bags until the stems snap not break snap
Then they go in the jars to cure for a minimum of 2 months
That sounds a lot like what I’ve been researching. I’ve never trimmed or dried yet, but I plan on hanging her whole in my tent to dry like you are saying.
The no light stresses them Make some produce more trichomes
Drying them out while doing this also stresses them
Stress to a point is good in the end
So basically the trichrome degrade during the light cycle
replenish at night
It’s how my uncle explained it to me and then of course lots of research to confirm…
Also hang in the plant hole takes a lot of the hay smell away
It’s called chlorophyll
Yes cover your roots
Turn those lights on full blast
Watering has nothing to do with lights burning your plants
It’s the distance between the light and the plants
Depending on the light you’re using
you want about 40 inch
at least 3 ft from the plant
Looking good
Your light manufacturer will give you a suggestion on how far to keep them away
FYI my lights are always full blast it’s all the about distance from the light
I see you got the ppms down. I would do 600ppm once again on the next feed.
NOTE If you add soil/dirt and it’s pre charged like fox farm and it’s any more than a cup I would do 500ppm and you can expect a higher runoff for a couple waterings.
