Welcome to the forum! When researching strains , dont pay much attention to the thc%, look at terpines. If youre wanting to grow for specific ailments, terpine profiles is where its at.

Hey @tokinfarmer , Welcome to the forum.
Lots of great growers here who will help you along. Nobody will berate you for any question or mistake. We have all done things and made mistakes growing and we love to help new growers. I learned everything about growing right here.
For research I suggest using the “Search” feature up top. Looks like this…

When you start your grow you can start a grow thread and if you stick with that one thread it makes it easier for us to watch the whole history in one place.
So again, welcome and get ready to be addicted to your new hobby.
Your first day has a limit on posting but it will be removed after a bit.

Keep it simple. Dont fall for the you need every meter/toy or widget to grow. My total setup for a 5x5 is GREAT lights. 1 exhaust fan. 1 carbon filter. 1 fan for air movement. 1 5x5 tent. 1 rh/temp meter… cloth pots. Dirt. Good nutes. Good.life for soil. 7.00 walmart analog timer. Good ph meter. 1 of my lights is worth all the rest of.my gear. Super simple. I get as large a yield as i want. No stress. No worry. Just my style.

Welcome @tokinfarmer! We are all here to help… we are all here still learning. I’ll tag you in my journal as well! My first grows were indoors but now I start them off indoors and move them outdoors.

Welcome aboard @tokinfarmer. I just wanted to reiterate what @Storm said. you can grow perfectly good cannabis with relatively little gear. Start with the basic necessities then go from there. If you aren’t sure what those necessities are, then ask. There is no substitute for a good quality light. Spend less on light get less yield every time. Don’t forget a good surge protector for your light. The drivers do not like power surges so it’s worth the extra layer of protection on an expensive light. The better you plan your grow the better it will turn out.
