That is awesome. I’m trying to just get a least a quarter lb a plant. More would be great lol
That last comment was directed @merlin44
Ty once again. I will try that next round unless the soil god comes along and suggests a super soil lol
Saw a great comment in a similar thread about a week ago.
The grow space will produce just about the same amount whether you grow 1 big or 10 small.
The determining factor for me to choose is the cost of seeds. I can plant and grow 9 plants in 2 gallon pots in my space or plant and grow 4 in 5 gallon pots. Both setups will fill the space and fight for light. With care yields should be similar, probably not exact because we all know nothing is guaranteed.
Yes bigger pots grow bigger plants, but space determines how much I can grow at a time.
Ty that makes sense
Depending on what seeds you run is a big deal for sure. But a SOG grow will always be more efficient then long vegging to fill a scrog.
To me that’s the fun part of growing…
I try something different every time I grow a new plant.
Kinda like fishing…lots of stuff to try and always fun and interesting.
I’m wanting to try that also but haven’t started cloning yet. I think that is what you do for sog isn’t it
Clones make the playing field level as far as not having a bunch of different phenotypes you will find in seeds. Which translates into better canopy management
I haven’t tried that yet but its on my bucket list.
Want to do it with a northern lights next spring.
I have a fairly new seed that’s called peyote critical I’m wanting to try cloning with and do the sog
I’m doing my first scrog right now and it’s tough on the patience. I’m definitely a SOG guy as far as a style goes
@Cyle1 has a beastly peyote critical growing in super soil right now
Right now I’m confined to a 336 tent. Getting read to move to a approximately 688 walk in closet. That hopefully will give me the room to grow some nice sized plants
That was 3by3by6 and 6by8by8
I would really like to see the results of that one. I’m curious as to how the peyote will do
@Cyle1 doesnt live far from me here in south Missouri. Perhaps one day I will meet him and check out his setup.
My dad was a great gardener and would have loved this. But that gene skipped me so I struggle with growing. I have to approach it as a mechanical problem and do things by trial and error. My wife responds well to the meds tho so I am motivated. I really love this forum as it has solved so many problems for me.
I’m a Michigan man myself and new to the growing scene. Best wishes to your wife. Hope everything goes the absolute best for both of you. It’s awesome that you do that for her. I’m really liking this growing thing and with this web site I hope to be able to learn and become a pro lol
Definitely! The larger the plumbing the more you can transport. The secret to the Mendocino trees is the size of the pots. You most certainly would not grow a 5 pound plant in a 5 gallon container. That said, it ain’t cheap to fill a 300 gallon pot!
Let’s assume you have a 4x4 grow space. You could train 1 plant by scrog to fill the whole spot right? But it would take longer than say 10 smaller plants right? If the 10 smaller plants were from clone and not seed then the cost would be lower both in stock and in hydropower. Plus, typically, one big scrog plant requires more ceiling height than the typical SOG grow. Just sayin’
