I just bought a pot for pot (2 actually)…I’m not trusting my soil choice. Going to transplant next week. AK-47 sits outside tent b/c it is a photo and idk what the sex is…
Thoughts? Ideas? Feedback?

Suggestion: when you transplant next week be sure to fill up the pots with soil. Happy roots = happy cannabis = good plant health.

Out of likes at the moment but with it being a reg seed and as small as it is u r fine to leave it in the tent it will not show sex til u flip it I have roughly 2 weeks from flip time before and make parts would show and pop open to spread pollen. Keep it in the tent under the light so they will grow. Autos usually will start flowering on their own between roughly 28 to 35 days some sooner some later u will def be able to tell the males from the females and the males look like they get super small pack of bananas where the white pistils should be. The main top of a male looks like all little balls where as the fems look like they r a white hairy covered creature from outer space lol. Male parts usually don’t come to a sharper point at the tip as they seem to have a flatter looking top to them as females look like a teardrop with white hairs coming from the point. Try not to get the plant wet. Water drops resting on the leaves act as a magnifying glass and can burn the leaf.
Like others said, next time fill up the pot with soil too! I would go with FoxFarm Happy Frog soil next time, or even go with Coco coir, my new favorite.

Was the AK a bag seed? If it was bought from a reputable supplier it is most likely feminized.

It was a reputable supplier (not here), but I used those seeds last year and got some fellas, so I’m just being cautious.

I have some Fox Farm Nutes, but the pot for pot seems soooo simple so I gotta try it.

Don’t know much about pot for pot nutes but I tried the fox farm once and hated it
Female seeds have a small hole at the end that was atatched to the plant (not the pointy end) and males have this hole filled in, usually with a different color. Use a magnifying glass for a closer look. When you know what you are looking for most seeds are easy to tell apart.
On the soil, you might like the results with Hyponex brand potting soil or the equivalent. Don’t get too hung up on exotic things like hand-dug bat guano etc.

From the Hyponex page on Scotts. “Good for most types of potted plants as it feeds plants for up to 4 months.”
Feeds for x months is a sure sign that there are time-release nutes in the mix which is not a good thing for cannabis. Hyponex is not a soil we see used much at all. Search the site for Miracle Grow, which is also a poor choice for cannabis. They are similar.
Time release soil submarines your pH and nukes your plant with nutes every time you water. I would avoid it and get a soil (Black Magic, a Fox Farm product) that is properly buffered for cannabis.
So that’s all the soil it came with? Not familiar with a pot for pot. I should really look into it
no, I haven’t transplanted to a pot for pot yet. Will post when I do.

Also, make sure your pots have proper drainage.
