Grow tent heat issues/light schedule change

To start, I’m from Arizona and temps are already reaching upper 90’s, which is causing my garage to heat up significantly during the day. Once my tent gets to about 83 Degrees I turn off the lights to try and drop the temp a bit before turning them back on. My light schedule right now is at 18/6 with light time from 12 AM to 6 PM. I read that autos can handle changes in light schedules better than photos, so I was wondering I could could change the light period back two hours (so light from 10 PM - 4 PM) on one day, then back another 2 hours the day after (so light time from 8 PM - 2PM) so that the lights are off during the hottest time of the day. My plant starts week 11 tomorrow and enters week 4 (I think) of flowering. I plan on moving my grow tent to the cooler side of the garage, but I have some cleaning to do first, and buying an AC for my tent is also off the table financially right now. Thanks for the feedback.

I have adjusted my time in the past a couple hours with no issue during veg.

Best bet drop them down to 11hrs a day and pick a schedule based on your heat. Your later in the game so should do fine.

I did it once because of temperatures and I didn’t have any problems with them.

Once lights went off for the night 6pm I left them off till 6pm the next night and turned them on back to 12/12 just switched from on during the day to off during the day it really helped me keep it cool. I also run a small portable swamp cooler in my room it’s nice because it adds some humidity in there. It even works nice for the winter months because my room runs hotter than the rest of the house and again it adds moisture

Auto? I run auto/veg tent 5/3. Really helps. As Meeasy said on photo run at night. Works for me.

I have a 12/12 light schedule during flowering. I grow photo’s, not sure if there is a differance in light schedules between photo’s or auto’s?

I grow in my garage also I’m in central Cal we’re getting the same upper 90s. My plan is always get the garage as cold as possible the night before and before I leave to work in the morning I set my portable AC to 78. My lights on at 7pm off 7am. Able to maintain optimal temperature this way

Run your lights at night or stick them outside.
