Grow room dropped to 76 from 84 need heat!

I have decided to try insulating around the tent on 3 sides to protect it from outside wall temps.
This will be a challenge since my tent is within 4” of each of these walls but the back of tent has zipper openings to make it a bit easier.
I am a journeyman carpenter to the hardest part will be hauling 4x8 sheets in a hybrid car lmfao at least lowes is only a mile away.

I can do top of tent also. That has 6” space to work with.

Wondering if i should just get roll insulation. Would be very easy to fill gap around tent with it.
What do you guys/gals think ?

I was running my autos around 80 to 82 , outside Temps have dropped and I can finally turn off the ac, my room is running around 75 to 77 now, iam gonna run with it

Thats a good temp. I ran around that on my first grow and yielded 12oz from 2 autos in a 2x4 tent with garbage lights.
Going for the 85 per light instructions on new lights.

Insulating top and 3 sides with r-13 pink insulation has recovered my normal temps.

Its not pretty but my plants sure are !!!

Nice! Has it helped out quite a bit?

Raised it 10 degrees. Back to 85 or more. Fan turns on at 85 to exhaust down to 82.
Was down to 74 before insulation

If you aren’t supplementing CO2 I think 85° it’s to much heat for your plants, but I’m not an expert just saying, I keep 82° to 75° all the time in my room except in the nights when go down all the way to 65°.

You are totally correct under normal circumstances. However, his particular light does not heat the canopy like HPS or normal LEDs. The manufacturer (Black Dog) recommends 85°F. I had to look it up

Good stuff!

When they are talking about normal LEDs it isn’t the HLG or high end strips and such but the blurple LEDs with all the red and blue diodes that will add heat to the plants. The higher end more efficient full spectrum LEDs won’t heat the plants leaves as much just like the Black Dog fixture won’t either. They say in general that the better lights tend to not heat the leaves through thermal radiation? like older tech so to compensate they suggest instead of say 77f for HPS to raise the tent temps 4-5f with lights like black dog or HLG etc.
I think that’s what I’ve read…learned anyway. This is for optimal growth for plants as long as you also have humidity where it needs to be up in the 60% range with temps around 82f
Look at this chart for VPD…is for flower and changes based on stage of growth. So if you have your temps in line with Humidity you’ll be on a good track.

Seedlings .08-1.0
Veg 1.0-1.2
Flower 1.2-1.5 or so

Good info. Thanks for that. I should’ve gathered all the information before posting above. I’m using an HLG QB setup right now. Good to know.

Good deal.
I just use this chart for all stages but where the green is for flower I just move things toward the left for veg and further left for seedlings.
Only difference is if it was set for veg the green section on that chart would be move to the left in the range of 1.0-1.2 or so but this chart works just need to adjust for best RH % based on temps. Change whichever you can to dial things into range. One or both.

I use same chart type to set humidity so it is proper. Without it they wouldn’t grow optimally.
Also my humidifier kicks butt. Can raise it after fan is on in under 30 seconds. Say from 50% to 65%

Its ideal air 75qt.
