Just so everyone knows I got those 2 clones 6 days ago, bought in the classification as (large) “ready for transplant” and obviously did so the day I got them, top fed for 3 days, then started the autopots, I put a moisture meter in there down into the root ball and it’s showing me that it’s definitely not dry nor overwatered seems to be perfect, pH is 6.2 ppm 624, water temp 70-71 degrees, so I just don’t know!!
Use your finger and not trust a chinese piece of crap. If you’re using the same green two pronged soil ph/light/hydration meter they sell on amazon, throw it away immediately.
@PhillyRock LMAO , your the first to say that, I asked a few days ago about thAt one, and everyone said, “the PH/light reader on it is garbage” BUT the moisture reader should be close enough, I mean it might not be an exact reading but it is saying they’re wet, they’re obviously getting fed, it’s just I’m not sure it’s enough, the big question in the beginning was IF I should start up the auto pots, not knowing if the roots were ling enough yet, then I made an executive decision to start em up, now I’m wondering if I may have too soon, and was told “NO MATTER WHAT, IF THAT SYSTEM IS ON DO NOT TOP FEED” so if it’s the case that they’re not getting enough then what?
So long as they aren’t wilting they are getting enough moisture.
If they start wilting take them out of the AutoPot and water them. You do that because if you top feed them while in the AutoPot there is a very good chance that whatever you feed them will end up on the floor. That is the only downside to top watering them, water on the floor. If someone thinks that merits
Then so be it, but it’s more like “be careful if watering once the pots are turned on or it will flood the floor”.
It will take a few weeks for them to take off, they will spend the time developing roots.
@CMichGrower Yeah it was explained as if I do that it would give them an extreme amount of nutes at once, and the whole time I was thinking at once? How? When it’s gravity fed, but I don’t know that’s why I’m here, so the only reason to NOT top feed is because it’s a for sure flood if I do? Other than that they look ok?
Your looking for death… if there alive they will eventually gain traction and turn intonregulsr plants… reveg can take a good amount of time and anything under 24 hours strait light prolongs this process… its
Far red phytochrome needs to be knocked off in plants to initiate flower… this. can be sped up by putting plants in a 48 dark period before flipping ton12 12 scheduel to reduce time of transition from veg to flower… to revert back to veg from flower takes a lil longer far red phytochrome needs to be built back upnto a certain level to recede to vegetative stage … vegetative stage is associated with summer where the sun is most overhead and intense … more infrared is naturally emitted by the sun during this period …when the sun falls low in the sky like fall or winter the intensity of light is not as great and the angle reduces the levels of IR reaching the plants which signals flower to commence… so manipulating phytochrome levels are your ticket… more light faster the transition… any questions let me know… when i learned of this it brought alotnof tactics into perspective of why it is done
Bro why you say that? Those little girls are VERY alive and pretty healthy from what I’ve gathered via web searching and here, I’m sure there’s a way more complex and scientifical way of doing that is much faster, but I ain’t trying to all that, I was told to just let them go and eventually they’ll grow into some monsters, all my plants are pretty healthy I won’t say in THE BEST health but I’m still learning and why I’m here and why I appreciate ILGM. I was worried because that’s what I do best, no but in all seriousness I was already told/warned about how they’d look when going back to veg, so kinda knew what to expect but wanted to just make sure by asking, and the autopots worry was just another one of my overthinking things as well, I look to you guys alot for confirmation too, and when I know things MIGHT be just fine, I like to here you guys say it too, just makes me feel more at ease to hear guys I know know what their doing say everything is ok!!
Usually if I want to top feed it would because I wanted to add something special that I didn’t want to put in reservoir like an extra shot of calcium or something for the growing medium like Bacteria or fungus products. I would never try to do a complete feeding, even though it wouldn’t matter.
Really, as long as those clones don’t wilt they are getting enough moisture and are doing fine.
@CMichGrower Cool thanks brother!!
@CMichGrower Just had to go in there with a green light, cuz my temp shot up to 97 and humidity down to teens, cuz I set up a bigger tent today for those autopot clones, and forgot to dial everything in, got sidetracked and went in to check and almost had a heart attack, panicked grabbed my green light and went in to adjust everything, so I hope like I read the green light won’t affect things especially in veg, so yeah I gotta tweak a few things tomorrow cuz now I have the 2 autopot clones and the 2 DWC clones in the same tent, my water stays cool where it’s at in my buckets but yeah it’s my first time doing clones and doing DWC so it’s all really a learning lesson for me to move forward, I forget how often tondo a rez change with these autopots?
One of the reasons I suggested only mixing up a few gallons at a time was because I knew that once the feeding was soaked into the coco the plants themselves wouldn’t require much until they took off and I know that you would get about 5-7 days off a couple gallons. You should try to replace at least once a week unless travel interferes.
Monitor your plants water needs by keeping a small pad where you write down date/time and amount of water put into the reservoir. I try to run out about every 5th day unless going away and need to feed for a few weeks at a time.
Besides, if you fill up the reservoir you won’t have anything to do for a couple weeks at a time. What fun is that?
You saud you dojt know what to look for… if they’re alive then you’re doing good just look for a regular signs you wouldn’t a weed plant if they’re dead then you have a problem that’s really the only thing to look for I agree they look good nice and alive it’s just going to take you a little time
Not true. The moisture probe is salvageable. It’s a good tool to use to learn how light your pots are when they’re dry. Definitely break off the ph probe so you’re not damaging roots unnecessarily.
I found the mosture meters suck to. I used the green top ones.
I havent grown clones but your look really tall and lankey.
Are they stretching like that? Lower the light if so.
Otherwise someone cut some weird clones for you
@BobbyDigital may have more clone experience
Nah I don’t have any clones. I have too many seeds to get through, lol.
Right! Haha @peachfuzz does clones
@peachfuzz @Nicky can I do this to them?
fimmed and lollipopped@peachfuzz @CMichGrower @fano_man @Covertgrower @BobbyDigital @I bought them in large size, they had (small) not ready for transplant, (Large) ready for transplant, and (teen) topped trained and ready for transplant, I bought those 2 of the large, and transplanted them immediately when I got home, top fed for 3 days and then turned the autopots on and they’ve been in for 4 days now, and I’m just wondering if I can start some training, topping, fimming?
The hardest part of growing is doing nothing!
Give them a chance to get established. When you see some active growth then you can start screwing with them.
