Just looked back at your bucket setup…
I would still get an air stone and air pump for a 60 gallon tank , for a five gallon bucket…
More oxygen will increase your root’s…
25 bucks at wallyworld for all parts …

LoL we don’t have wally world here in Michigan, and I’m not driving to TX the only place I know there is WW, BUT we do have a store named Minard’s that’s very much like WW, so I’ll grab one, but I need to know precisely what I need bud you said and air pump/stone, that you’d normally use in a 60 gallon? Seems a bit excessive but I know you know your stuff, so please just verify that for me!!

Well bud I think it’s too late for all that :grimacing::grimacing:

@peachfuzz, so look this is my very first time doing a DWC, I understand it has to be cleaned changed and maintained, which I will most certainly do, but I looked up under the basket this morning, and really don’t know but this doesn’t look healthy, please help bro, what is going on, and what do I need to do?

Should the roots be IN the water?

The bottom and sides of your net basket looks wet , so no the roots don’t need to be in the water , they will find their way to it…
There’s enough moisture to guide them and not let them dry out…
The air pump that I was talking about is a cheap one that says it’s for a 60 gallon aquarium , but I don’t think , that statement is true and that it’s efficient enough for a 60 gallon aquarium , but its a start…
If this is your first time with dwc , than I wouldn’t go crazy buying all kinds of stuff until you get the hang of it and decide that it’s the way that you want to grow… :+1::wink:

@peachfuzz yeah just left the grow store, and was sent home with this, I was told to put the recommended amount of clear rez in my res when I got home, and to add to every cleaning/feed, I bought the vitamin B, rhizotonic, and hydroguard, the king crab, and dynaflush, were samples given to me, but was told cuz I bought another bucket set-up but not premade, aqua spa, I bought all the parts to build one, but anyways was told to get my new bucket ready, water, nutes PH, then AFTER those add the hydroguard and rhizotonic and king crab, and to do that EVERY change as well

PS any suggestions in how to keep my res water at optimal temps, and what happens if it stays too high?

I didnt realize you were transferring to DWC you could have done it at any time just being in soil trying to clean the roots off completely being delicate if you take off one side or the other could be as much as 50% of the roots which could be detrimental best way to do that is to leave the cup in a bucket of water at the bottom of it and keep drinking until the cell just dissolve

Sorry was talking text…
Cut bottom off …put in a bucket of water and the soil will get soft and eventually the plant will just pull out the soil easily and not break roots

Well everyone, it’s not quite a Solo cup, but I’m gonna attempt a solo cup challenge with this pot here, and see if I can grow a photo in it from start to finish, I’ve seen it done in solo cups, bit from what I’ve seen, you don’t get much yield, but I’m trying it anyways, I got tons of time, and most of my time just sitting there staring at my plants so why not right?

If your in lower mich. Just google grow store. Get an airstone there. Or order from amazon.

Just put my HLG BSPEC up last night in my 2x4 with my 2 clones I have in autopots, and this morning am realizing I’m not gonna have enough room to do these 2 plants in this 2x4 as they are already pretty close to the light, and my 3x7 is FULL to the brim with plants, so my question is, being as young and fragile as these are can I do any type of training, topping, fimming, or anything to help with this issue, I have nowhere else to out these 2 autopots :grimacing::grimacing:

They are closer to the light than you can actually tell in the picture, I’d say about a foot give or take, it’s not burning quite yet, but I’m trying to be pro active before it starts, any suggestions?

So you still deciding what you are going to run ? Hydro soil or smarpots

I got about 1/2 oz from my solo cup girl. Definitely not going to produce like a plant with more space for roots but it’s a great way to test a bunch of different strains to see what strain you want to grow out bigger.

@Randy_Marsh I got all 3 going right now

I’m too damn lazy to be doing all that maintenance

I remember being told don’t worry about what my clones are gonna do, as they had to force themselves back into veg from flower buy is this normal looking, I feel like I may be off on my PH cuz I have twisted growth on a couple of my photos

I don’t do nothing all day but take care of my plants, soni don’t mind keeps me busy!!

@PharmerBob @PhillyRock @Covertgrower @CMichGrower @fano_man @peachfuzz @Nicky, yeah a quick Google search confirmed that for me, thanks but I’m really worried about these clones in these auto pots, leaving it up to the gravity feed has got me nervous AF because I’m used to actually knowing what happening, I mean I see very little slow growth going on, and it has sped up some since a couple days ago, but I’m just worried I’ve never grown from a clone before, not sure what to keep me eyes out for, not sure about training techniques on clones, and not even sure what a HEALTHY vs sick clone looks like, I’ve posted several post about my grow the last couple days and I’m not sure if because I haven’t tagged anyone that nobody’s seeing em, or what, but the ppl who normally help me the most haven’t been saying anything, so I’m checking ILGM every half hour to see if there’s responses to see what I might be able to do to help things, IF they need help!!
