I see pistils on both!

Thanks, I was hoping to hear that. Things seem to be going almost to good this time.

Yep, pistils on both.

Whatever feeding schedule you decide to go with should be fine. Your runoff shows they are feeding well. To me, they look healthy enough for heavier feeding, but it looks as if they like what they are getting now.

thanks :grinning: looking at the numbers it looks like they could use more. Looking at the plants they look fine. I for sure don’t want to over feed, but also don’t want to not give them enough. There seems to be a fine line there when it concerns my results lol I think a lot of my trouble last time may have been from the super hard water from what I have been reading. I was going to try a 1/3 tap water to 2/3rds of the bottled water. Then realized for 4 or 5 dollars. I could be just setting my self up for the old issues. So I bought 5 more gallon bottles to keep on how I am doing. If no one tells me and different before 6pm tonight. West coast time. I will probably try 1/2 strength nutes and then 2 days of watering. And if that worked for a week. Maybe try 1/3 every other day. Since I am learning, “and trying to be patient” If that went well, maybe try the 1/3 every other day on week 6. if it sounds like I am over doing it. I hope some one lets me know before I goof up again :grinning: I try to keep in mind, less can be more.

I think you might be over doing the watering. She doesn’t need water every day. You should water till runoff, then let her dry out.

:grinning: I am in coco. One day and it dries out quiet a bit. It takes about 6 cups of water before I start seeing anyrun off. I put 8 cups in to get a run off of 4 cups back. I almost think I need to up it by 2 cups to get to a 20% run off. These little ones love water

Oh, okay, I guess that’s fine then since you can’t really overwater coco.

thanks for trying to look out for me :grinning:

No problem. I know you’re not too sure yet.

:grinning: I am reading through your grow on the Chocoloupe plant. It looks incredible. Some of the comments are hilarious too. I am learning a lot in there. I think people in here share a lot of info on growing and don’t even realize it. They just talk about stuff like every one all ready knows that.. This grow will let me know if I have that brown thumb you were talking about LOL

Lol, I did get off track a bit on that grow journal. You’re right, we do talk about things as if everyone knows what we mean. I try not to do that, but it’s hard to remember. Especially when we start using short terms or initials that a lot of people don’t know. I do try to write in complete sentences so noobs can understand it, I hope you get something out of it.

That’s why new people are encouraged to read through as many topics as they can. So-o much information is doled out in simple conversations.

After doing some growing and experiencing, and overcoming, the varied issues, you will also be educating future new people. Nice, huh?

We all remember when we first started. Most here will encourage you to ask if you don’t know. It’s a joy to be able to help someone else as we were and still are.

The only reason someone knows more than you is because you have not lived it yet…

That’s very true, we’ve all been there. :slightly_smiling_face:

Well, today officially ends week 4. You are all correct in the more you read the more it can help. When you are new. Some time to much info can be as bad as not having any. So many opinions on different things it can be hard to tell just what we need.

I learned some thing very important today and this could very well help all you other new people out there.
Listen to the members here when they tell you to learn to read your plants. I am putting that at number one for any one  I know my biggest mistake was to try and grown my plants the same as every one else. Not taking into consideration little things like, They may be in soil. Or my plants are not there plants. What their plants may love. Ours may not. I see most giving lots of nutrients to their plants. So I figured that so what I should be doing.
Last night I decided I would feed every other day at 1/3 strength. For what ever reason. My plants seem to be telling me they are not ready for that. They were happy with 1/3 every 3rd day. This morning I went in and found the leaves on number 1 starting to just start to feather up on some of the edges. Lights are at 22" so I don’t think it is a heat issue. On number 2, I see what I think is more of the little brown spots. Probably just me. They are larger and pretty faded. So it may just be I am noticing it more because I turned the plants some last night. I picked up number 1 and if felt super light. I just gave it a half gallon last night. I am in 3 gal. pots. Number 2 and the Big bud felt some what heavy like normal. So now I am going to lift the plants when I water. So much to learn when you are Not2sure  I am will play this by ear now. My ph will not drop below 6.1 for the run off. I am going to call it good there and if it drops, it drops. If not. I am not going to worry about it.
If I can make it one more week with no issues. I am pretty sure i can go all the way. My humidity bumps up to 55 for about an hour or so each day. other than that. I am closer to 45rh. This rain keeps messing that up.

So for now. All is good, no great here.I am pretty happy with this. The B.D are now at a foot tall and the B.B. is doing well too. The little Magnum in the closet is growing pretty good for only a few days old.
I hope every ones weekend is off to a good start.

That’s a good philosophy to keep. Be one with your plants and they will tell you what they need. That and always check your Ph, and you should be good. :slightly_smiling_face:

I am back with another question
I know that when I water, I am supposed to do it to about 20% run off. it seems like my plants need a little more water than what I am giving them. I water around 6pm each night when the lights come on. By the next morning, the pots are considerably lighter and the plants do look like they could use a drink. Or at least that is my take. the leaves get a little droopy. Shortly after I water. They are back up again
I know, long winded there, sorry
I give them a 1/2 gal “8 cups”. of water each night. Can I just give them say, maybe 1/2 that " 4 cups" in the morning to get them by? I am asking because I don’t want to create any more issues. With out the 20% run off, I am worried about salt build up if I do that. When I water at night. they are keeping about 50 % of what I give them.

Hello friends. I think I may be in need of a little more guidance since I am now in uncharted territory for me. All the plants are doing good. It occurred to me that I really am not sure when I should be changing from the veg to flower for nutrients. This is week 2 of pre flower, & the start of week 5 . I am back to excited again. These have grown 6 1/2 inches in the last 2 days. I had to up the water and now think I should just give them a gallon a day each. They are super close to needing that. I also decided not to mess with what works and am staying with the feed one day, then water for 2 days. At least till some one recommend that I should change that. I am going to try increasing the nutrients though. Or should I stay where I am at? I am putting in just over 450 ppm and getting back 150 ppm I don’t feed till thursday so I have time for suggestions  I am going to stay on the same schedule I am at now for the Big bud since it is 2 weeks behind the Blue Dream here.
Thanks again . I am getting close to the half way point.

I just went through the errors of not asking this question. You should feed grow/veg nutrients until you see pistils, then switch to bloom nutrients.

Is this an auto? Sorry I can’t remember, I’m stoned. If she’s been pre flowing for two weeks then yes, start feeding the bloom nutes.

@elheffe702, @raustin, Thanks. To be honest. The only reason I even noticed to ask is because of another post I read earlier. I then realized I was so happy things were going great. I was just running on auto pilot. And yep, I am doing autos right now. Probably for the next few grows. These plants grow so fast there is not much time for me to mess up LOL. This time has been 10 times easier than the last grow. What tiny issues I had. I was able to correct right away. I wish the Big bud would stretch a little. Make it easier to water lol Hopefully it will come next week when it is a little older.
