Grow diary for my first grow ever! Named her Cherry, let’s see if she pops!

Day 28. She’s growing and I can’t keep her down. The Mary has a unique triangular shape which makes a scorg setup…interesting to accomplish. I tried making one from scratch out of jute string but then stopped. Then I kinda half assed another one by cutting down a larger scrog. Getting in into a triangular shape isn’t as easy as it may seem. I’ll have to try tie down tomorrow.

It’s a start and looks good

Day 29. She’s still growing…I think? More focused only my horrible scrog job :joy: I have one last idea for LST tomorrow. I enjoy getting creative to find solutions to the small growing space but I’m running out of ideas :joy:

Day 30. Happy one month! Figured out a way to LST. Bought some adhesive handles off Amazon and used the to start some LST. Wish I thought of it sooner. She looks healthy she seems a bit droopy hoping she stops sweating so much from her leaves.

Day 31. Switched her phase in the Mary to “Flowering” as advised by the Mary Grow experts due to her height and being an auto. It switches on the 3000k LEDs and provides more light. LST looks to be helping a bit, she’s still growing fast though.

Day 31 update. So I’m a dumbas** broke one of her massive fan leaves trying to LST. Good now I know how much I can bend bad cus well now I might’ve stunted her. Tragedy was bound to strike as I’m a new grower but let me tell you when I heard that snap I was scared sh*tless. Live and learn, I hope she recovers.

.

Losing a fan isn’t a tragedy. I promise it’ll be alright. My first plant I tried to LST got snapped in half. No joke. She went on to produce 2.1 ounces for me.

I actively remove all of my fans the day I switch my plants to the 12/12 cycle. So think of it as giving her a jump start :v:

That’s relieving to know! I don’t think I should remove anymore though as she’s an autoflower. What do you think?

I honestly don’t treat my autos and photos any differently. I wouldn’t ever remember who was who. So I generally FIM instead of top, and do light defoliation as I veg, then strip off all the fan leaves on days 1 and 21 of flower. Sometimes I’ll do it again after around 45-50 if it’s a real bushy plant.

Anyway, that was a long way of saying I act like everything I have is an autoflower because I don’t want to accidentally stress-herm an auto by treating her like a photoperiod.

Got it! That’s good advice to follow. I’ll see how bushy she gets. I’m satisfied with the light penetration she has now. If she gets bushier then I’ll remove one or two fan leaves. She has some massive ones that I wouldn’t mind clipping.

Day 32. Changed her water a day early, thirstiest week she’s had so far. Upped her flora trio dosage to match the flowering stage. Let’s see what this coming week holds.

Day 34. Still drinking, still growing. She’s almost to the top of the Mary. Hoping she slows down this week but I doubt that. She’s a happy plant.

If you can hammer her with any more light from above you might slow her stretch.

That’s they brightest they go :frowning: but it’s is very bright, the pictures don’t do it justice. Trying to give her some heavy LST.

I believe that. The tent in my garage has what my wife calls “the light from god” coming out of it, but my photos from that tent are weird, sad, and dim. I assume it’s our cameras adjusting the exposure to the shortest possible exposure rate so it doesn’t damage the lens from the light. That’s my theory anyway, since I only really know about oldschool SLR cameras. I figure even digital cameras have sensitivities to light they have to protect against.

Whatever it is I wish my eyes would do it too sometimes. Almost blinded anytime I open it up :joy:

Day 35. It’s literally become a tug of war between me and her main shoot. Bending her hard to the left this time. It’s kind of like a very slow bull ride and… I think I’m losing? :joy: She’s a grower!

Day 38. Skipped a few days since not much changed. I think she’s starting to slow down on the growing. Still tussling with her so she doesn’t reach the light and exposing those lowers bud sites. Thinking of doing some trimming but I can’t tell which fam leaves to cut. Any ideas?

Day 41. Here we are, the point I knew was coming, tried to stop her from getting this high but she does what she wants. Not sure how to train her goin forward. She’s getting tougher to bend in some areas.

The ol’ bend and snap. AKA supercropping
