Grow attempt #3, maybe this one will be a success

Welcome everyone to the madness that is my learning curve. My first grow I found out was a true herm at day 21 so to prevent a daily search for the male parts I threw it out. My second grow I was ignorant to the fact diatomaceous earth contains calcium, as did the cal mag I gave every watering and the fertilizers… was looking really rough so I just chopped it to dry for butter.

So here we are day-0 with my third grow, third times a charm right? I put them in paper towels with some mykos not even a day ago and the root already is protruding a lot. Just sowed them in more mykos and Build a soil 3.0. I hope this is the key to me not having issues this run (as well as not using diatomaceous earth). 5 gallon fabric pots this time as well.

The strains are both from multiverse genetics because if you could’ve seen the amount of stress I put the last plant through you would be surprised it didn’t herm. Growing a “Titan 9” auto and a “Dark Matter” auto. Would love for people to follow along and drop a comment (growing related or not) to help out a fellow growmie.

Also have the early axed plant in a wine cooler with no special modifications so I’ll let you guys know how that goes once finished.

Hell yeah, beat me to the tag

You need to have ventilation airflow and circulation or you run risk of mold and mildew growing on your harvested weed.

Can’t wait to see how it goes. I don’t recall exactly how many grows I went through, but I started about 2 years ago. Just now getting some good stuff, haha. For me during seperate grows I overwatered, Then I overfed, Then I chopped too early due to not able to identify the issue (it was the soil). DWC fixed most of those which I tried next, then when I went to auto pots and following the jacks feeds it’s all kind of just chugging along without issue now.

I am about to set up a 4x4 tent alongside the current 4x4. I have to try to chase down a good bubblegum myself. Got some STS and colloidal silver as well in case I do. Been looking for it for 15 years or so, so now I will try to pheno hunt and do all that crazy stuff I’ve never done before. If you would like I can tag you along in that when it gets going.

Can’t wait to see how it goes, as well with the unmodified cooler, curious as to how that will go. I love what came out of mine, I just wish the cannatrol were about $600 cheaper and I would be able to afford it.

Good luck!

There’s a fan inside that never stops blowing to circulate air and I’ve been opening roughly 1-2 minutes every 5-6 hours. Not certain if this will suffice, I just read someone mentioning doing that on a lotus method thread elsewhere. I’m just glad I have the chance to practice on something I don’t plan on smoking. I put two 2-way 62% humidity packs in as well as a precaution.

Along for the ride buddy :green_heart::metal:t2:

I think my mistake last grow with overwatering was trying to keep the worms moist while also letting the soil not get too wet, such a hard balance to achieve. No worms this time around seeing as I have fabric pots and airflow shouldn’t be as big an issue as with a wooden pot. I also have my own compost of worm castings so no need try let them live in there.

That’s probably the largest I would go if they made it legal here to do so. My tent was initially purchased because a dispensary jar seed sprouted and I was like “holy shit let me grow this”. With that thought process I didn’t do as much research as I should’ve prior so I’m kind of married to these fertilizers for now.
Bubblegum is a strain I haven’t heard of in a long time even scrolling these threads but was a staple in my youth, excited to see what phenos you come up with.

Yeah I can’t justify the cost seeing as I’m still trying to earn back my initial investment now. Right now humidity is still pretty high so I’ve been trying to “burp” it for a period of time to get new air inside of it. Also have my Winnie 5500 air purifier next to the door to hopefully prevent any spores. It all sounds good but only time will tell.

Fortunately for me they just made it legal here about a year ago. Can have up to 12 plants. I don’t know how much product I can have laying around, but that isn’t a concern until I get some good grows under my belt. I don’t plan on spending anymore $$ but, you know. I have (2) 4x4 and (1) 2x2. I plan on trying to keep a mother pheno in the 2x2, make some clones from it to grow in the 4x4. Once it all checks out I would use another clone and turn it male and collect as much pollen as possible to make some seeds the next round. Pop a few and see how it goes, if well I can pass some around for anyone looking for the bubblegum strain. Mosca seeds wants $100 for 6 seeds, which to me is insane, but being able to clone and hopefully inbreed/cross breed a pheno successfully would make it worthwhile. I don’t really know, but I’ll give it a shot. If anything, At least I’ll have a mother plant.

Tag me along I’ve always been interested in mother plants and everything just never had the means to do so. Right now I have half my walk in closet just a grow tent lol. Just make sure you’re all scientific with it because my first grow was a colloidal silver induced plant and I ended up with a true herm. Now I’m looking into people who have bubblegum strains because that sounds dank, Seems like everyone is crossing stuff with gorilla glue or hazes. I have a photos from a place called compound genetics and Killeen genetics but I don’t even know if I will get to them. Up for a trade for autos with someone but not sure if the site allows it.

Yeah, it will take me some time. I plan on using STS and colloidal silver and testing around with what works. I’d rather have a good end result than a quick one. Live and learn, I suspect it will take me awhile, haha. I am in it for personal reasons more than profit so I think that should allow me the pleasure of taking my time.

I hope it’s what I remember it was, but who knows. In the end I would like a “variety” of options/crosses that I can just have all the time. X for this, Y for that, along with either the mother or some good seeds from the genetics. Never in my life when I loved a strain could it ever be replicated again, until now. That is what I am most excited about.

I don’t think they do let you do that, but it would be ideal. I read in one of the posts where members would make IG accounts with the same user name on here for people to find each other outside of it, but I am not entirely sure.

Was just reading about a company called th seeds having the original bubblegum strain. I would search for who has the closest or purest strain and just buy their 3 packs.

Can’t confirm or deny that I just did this :relieved:

This is my approach to growing and has definitely helped with the headaches. Knowing I may get butter out of my dying plant was a win and my books, plus no pressure of making money from it helps

That’s the one. Those are the Indiana bubblegums. If you’re looking for the one from your youth.

Calyx Bros has cheaper IBG fems, if still around.

Would you go with the S1 or the BX? The only difference I can see is the BX series says to smell a bit like Anise.

I looked and don’t see anything really for them.

The S1 is gonna be a copy of the IBG. The BX is him trying to stack his preferences. I’d personally get the S1.

Yup Calyx are gone now. Figured it would be. Luckily I grabbed 3 pks on the drop.

I was gifted an ilgm bubblegum. It turned out good but not reminiscent.
