Gradual light flip?

I read somewhere that people use a method of gradual light flipping by going from 18/6 to 17/7 to 16/8 etc. down to 12/12. In theory, it sounds like a gradual light change would mimic the natural day/night cycle which would be more natural to the plant.
Has anyone here tried this?
Does it benefit anything ?

Hey there!
I guess that it just slows down the growth because of the lack of light. I’ve never done this and this is just an uneducated thaught of mine.
But it FOR SURE benefits your portemonnaie :speak_no_evil:

I have read about that method and many other lighting schemes. I just went from 18/6 to 12/12 14 days ago. This is my first grow in a long time but in the past I always just “ripped the bandage off” and changed the schedule. I like to keep it as simple as possible and I have never seen any ill effects on the plants by just biting the bullet and going to 12/12. Your mileage may vary and I am sure your will garner some additional input from more experienced growers than this cat.

I did that but 30min at 2 days… I don’t know if that works… Maybe if are involved 2 spaces to see any reaction.

I had a lot of newbie/ignorance issues when I started (on my own, without adult supervision  ) so when I finally figured out lighting and got them healthy there was no way I was going to just flip. I did the every day thing, knocking an hour off the timer to get to 12/12.

If you’re in a hurry, I can see this being an issue.
