Does it look like my seedling is stretching for light?
I have a 300w full spectrum LED light that is 26" above it.
I’m wondering if I should lower the light a bit.
It is Gold Leaf strand, 4 days old, just under 1.5" high.
its a little stretched yes but nothing major in my opinion, not sure you would be wanting to move the light closer
@MAXHeadRoom or @latewood and @Countryboyjvd1971 are the LED guys hopefully one will pop by for you now and give you some guidance…
But your little lady looks quite happy to me
I have my Gold Leaf seedlings under a 1200w (200 True watts) cheap ebay light at 10" with no burn. They love as much light as they can get. Move down to 18" and see how it does, then closer if that goes well. Happy Gowing
Thanks for the tip! I will move the light down and keep a close eye on it for yellowing.
Yes she does look happy doesn’t she
The cool thing I noticed about seedlings is the fact that they will show you what’s wrong with them within about 8 hours or so. My seedling for my ILGM AK-47 started to stretch real bad, so i lowered the light about 4 inches and then it started to taco. So I raised it about 2 inches…BAM! perfect, you just gotta find the sweet spot for your plant and use the quoted height as a reference guide for your plant(s).
My suggestion would be lower that light like @MAXHeadRoom suggested
Hahahaha bro ha net thought about that show for some time now
Good throw back max
I have 1000 and two 300 in one of my tents in 18 inches or so off canopy
Light equal fat bud @AngelT
Looking good @tonsta
I’m not sure if this is normal looks like they were stretching so I lowered my lights a bit they were a little high I didn’t want to expose them to early does it look like they will make it the tap root is already coming out of the bottom a few inchs I’m thinking I’m gonna have to transplant to the flood table soon what do you guys think???
What type of lights ? If t-5 or similar you can get pretty close
How close ? Are they now
led full spectrum 100 watt which says for this one 18 to 24 inchs it has a 90 degree reflector top of the line
I have had the dome closed because all this growth has happened since yesterday mourning…
How far are you now you said you lowered
They do look like they are sreaching a little bit but not bad
I have a couple head led panels I use for germination that I keep about 10 inches off my germination tray dome ?
I popped the seeds about a week ago in water then 4 days ago put into the cloning tray and into the rapid rooters this is just a practice run but if they flower I’m gonna go all the way yeah they just sprouted above ground yesterday and grew rapidly up and they look a bit droopy the one more then the other I’m thinking it had something to do with water or light not sure??
ill see how they are doing in the am but one last thing I’m not sure when I need to transplant the tap root is about 2 inchs long under the rapid rooter already I’m worried about o2 damage to the roots since I’m not keeping it wet there just when I water then I drain the tray slightly and the other thing I keep seeing different points of view do I need a dark cycle for these babies??
If root is 2in out of rapid rooter then it’s time to transplant
#2 it would be better to have a 18/6 instead of 24/0
Even plants need rest!
Edit: sorry for the bold caption I promise I wasn’t yelling
i heard you way over here! @Nug-bug
A couple days after I planted it, I realized I should have placed it lower so I could cover it with clay balls. I was afraid to move it but I did go ahead and gently dug it out and moved it lower. There were a lot of roots but they weren’t sticking out of the rockwool too far, so I’m thinking it will be okay.
As it grows I put on more clay balls to stop the light getting to The lower stem root protection
that’s what I was thinking they are troopers they look a lot better today I opened the dome vents last night and they both look much better+
ill be transplanting these today into the flood table with coco coir chunk style anybody got experience with ebb & flow with coco chunk not the fine stuff I did my home work(Follow @Nug-bug s advice get it potted asap
Good looking nug
Sorry I been working on this all day got them into the table and coco they look much better stopped stretching and leafs are starting to open a bit ill see how they do this week thanks for the help my ph is 6.3 ec 450 temp 24.5 C I’m using a hanna grow check meter per user manuel ec ppm ph tri meter Ive been keeping close watch my water after the ro filter running at 25 C water temp is coming out at about 30 ec nice and low ppm much lower then 100 always then after I added the floranova grow 1 part nutrient it went up to 350 ec and after the first run 400 ec second run 450 how often should I be feeding them 1 per hour or every other hour this coco drains fast because its large chunk size so I was advised to flood more often when in flower maybe twice a hour in the extreme side from a good friend of mine but does this sound about right
