Full Recipe
8 1.5 cubic ft bags of Roots Organics soil or a high-quality organic
potting soil with coco fiber and mycorrhizae (i.e., your base soil)
25 to 50 lbs of organic worm castings
5 lbs steamed bone meal
5 lbs bloom bat guano
5 lbs blood meal
3 lbs rock phosphate
¾ cup Epson salts
½ cup sweet lime (dolomite)
½ cup azomite (trace elements)
2 tablespoons powdered humic acid

I have 2. 3.8 cubic bales of ProMix HP. I am concerned with pH in this process. I am told the baseline pH is 5.8-6.2. Thats too low to me. With all these ammendments, which way do you see the pH going? Still need a few items from the list. I did not see perlite on the list. My plants will be in veg when i get them in these mesh bags, probably beginning of May. Hoping they are a foot tall or better by then. I have high expectations. I REALLY appreciate you helping me out with my 1st super soil. I have a 15X15 deck with a tarp to mix. Confident this year will be BETTER than last, not that year was bad. It was good. So what was the out come on the shoulder ? You sound good with it , so it must have been good,
And yes you can get some perlite and add it it’s not going to hurt anything.
Your P H is going to be just fine. As a matter of fact never check mine and have excellent results.
There is going to be a lot of things that your not going to have to do anymore but just water your plants and give some tea every now an then.
Oh and don’t for get the FULVIC ACID you’ll mix with water and spray your plants with it and to water your plants with a couple on time . Other wise you should be get to go my friend. I’ll be doing the same thing in May myself.

Hey man. Having my MRI next Friday, ill let you know the result. So, NO fulvic acid, or just fulvic acid for foliar spray and root drench? Just water, No nutrients? What happens if nutrients are introduced, nutrient burn? Happy 420 BTW. Enjoy! Thanks again man.

1/2 supersoil original mix with roots original I have 3 plants with that, this is the sc and so far so good 3 weeks old.

The other super soil mix I made are the better version and I have some in that too, I am hoping this works out because all I do is water and I plant on once a week using roots terp tea in bloom, The only reason is I used on my plants and next day thought someone brought roses in the house ! That stuff really works and now my buds are exploding with sweetness. so I plan on that istead of bubbling up ( oh that needs bubbling also) but don’t have to put all the raw ingredients.

That middle plant is beautiful - just crushing it and loving life. What tweaks did you make to @garrigan62 recipe? I’m looking to do on a large scale and I just don’t think my normal methods will work in regards to time spent feeding. This seems like if you get the mix right, the consistency is unparalleled. Thank you!!!

Soil Recipe to be mixed with 1 to 1/1/2 cu ft of base soil
.3125 lb or 5 oz Fishbone Meal 3-16-0
.3125 lb or 5 oz Steamed Bone Meal 2-14-0
.625 lb or 10 oz Bat Guano 0-7-0
.3125 lb or 5 oz Blood Meal 13-0-0
.3125 lb or 5 oz Feather Meal 12-0-0
.375 lb or 6 oz Colloidal Rock Phosphate 0-3-0
1 tbsp Potassium Sulfate 0-0-53
1 tbsp Souluble Kelp Powder 0-0-17
1 tbsp Mycorrhizal Fungi (300 spores per gram)
3/4 tsp Powdered Humic Acid (90 % pure)
1 1/2 tbsp Epsom Salt
1tbsp Sweet Lime (Dolomite)
1 tbsp Asomite (Trace Elements)
6.25 lbs Worm Castings
After it sat for a bit and before I put it in my pots I added more perlite because it just needed it, you could tell.
And for the veg soil I use roots original, and I threw a few handfuls of EWC, and used a table spoon of roots elemental, which is calmag. Hope that helps.

I have only been using ro water ph’d to 6.5
like a teeny tiny bit of earth juice down, and that’s it happy growing !
the other plants are doing good too. This strawberry is growing the fastest.

Thanks for that info I’m bookmarking for future use as I’m sure I’ll be coming back to revisit many times. I wonder what the opinion would be on using some coco as filler, maybe 10-15%? Would this deplete your nutrients quicker throwing everything out of wack? I’m a huge believer in don’t fix what ain’t broke but it would seem coco levels in organic soil will vary anyway and as that’s your base there should be room for tweaking. I agree would love to see where he is with his as well.

This is just the beginning, a starting point to work with, as time goes on adjustments I am sure have to be made, especially when you get into reusing the old stuff. As time goes on, years maybe you hone in the skill to exactly what will work, but as always we like to tinker.
