Have been growing with 1000 watt HPS,great results,but now looking to upgrade to an LED. Growing dwc,2 plants in a 5x5 tent,what would be a great light to buy?

I switched about 2 years back from HPS lights when I changed from soil to hydro…I use a Marshydro FC-E6500 in my 4x4 tent and have no complaints

Will that be enough for 5x5 tent?

I think so…the light frame is 4x4 and goes corner to corner…in the specs it says it will satisfy 5x5 space

Another good led light is the hlg 650r great light perfect for a 5x5

I upgraded to an hlg 350r for a 2x4 tent. As mentioned, the 650r would rock your tent. Look for a refurbished one, and use code DUDE.

I have two 5x5 tents going but wanted to try one out before I buy 2 new lights

Marshydro, SpiderFarmer and HLG are lights I see recommended frequently for out of the box setups…others custom build their lights with discreet components…

I saw the new 8000 series form Marshydro is made for 5x5 tents…see if “Cyrus” will give you a discount…Amazon sells it for around $800

I talked with mars hydro and they recommend the fc 6500,they tell me you need co2 for the fc 8000,any thoughts? This is for my 5x5 tent

More watts is better providing it has the right spectrum of light.
You can always turn down the wattage/ intensity and it will cut down on heat and make your diodes last longer. They are full of it that you need CO2 for the bigger light. Look for a light that has a remote driver or is easy to modify the driver location. You’ll want that outside the tent unless you’re in a real cold climate.
