This is my 1st grow since about 3 years ago. I’m growing White Widow and I’m getting close to go into the flowering stage. I’ve been running LED lighting 18 hours a day and my 20x24 SCROG net is almost fully covered. If i remember correctly I used 12-15 hours for the first and second week and the 12-10 hours for the final weeks and then no water and no light for the final 3 days. So my question is: How much lighting should I be using now and when I get into flower?
Assuming these are photoperiod?
Get ready for the stretch😎
White widows are amazing im doin one now and she is in week five of flower
maybe this will help - Recommended DLI by grow stage
As a point of reference 700 PPFD for 18 hours has a DLI of 45. This is where you want to be during late veg.
700PPFD over a 12 hour period drops DLI down to 30.
Many, including me like to push the PPFD a little higher especially during early - mid flower. PPFD between 700 - 1000 will produce nice nugs.
When you talk about decreasing light hours, you are essentially decreasing DLI. I do it by turning the dimmer down a notch. Maybe raise the light an 1 - 2". All of them accomplish the same thing.
Welcome back.
So I should be going from 18 to 12 hours immediately? Should I stay at 12 throughout the entire flowering stage?
The “FLIP” to 12 hours initiates transition to flower stage. If the plant and you want it to flip, the yes, change the light schedule to 12 hours. If it needs more time, because you want to veg longer and grow more or do more LST, whatever the reason, then keep on 18 hours and switch a little later.
I’m doing a perpetual grow with a WW. Amazing plant.
I don’t follow. Is that the on/off numbers?
My bad, 15 to then 12 hours and then 12 to then 10 hours. Time with light on.
I’ve seen light schedules that you can run where lights on, progressively decreases. Can’t say that it’s a good or bad ideal, but 12/12 works.
