Two seeds germinated in same pot. Should I sacrifice one or separate . Knowning roots are sensitive to moving I’m reluctant to separate. Thoughts?
I’d separate them. They can be a little more resilient than you’d think. That’s not to say just pull them up. Use a plastic spoon or something to sort of dig and make sure you go deeper than the root. Wear latex gloves if you have them. Then just plant in separate container.
Agree, carefully separate them. If they are real young, shouldn’t be an issue providing you have space for two plants.
You could always grow them in the same pot also, IF… the pot is big enough so the roots dont cancel each other out. If theres not enough space between them they will communicate with eachother and they wont grow. Just food for thought.
Its best to keep them separated and in their own units though.
Separate as early as possible.
Thanks folks for the reply’s….I’m going to separate and grow one in my vegetable garden and one in a container. Question is what size container for Autoflower?
Most cultivators run 3 to 5 gal for autos. I’ll tag @kaptain3d he’s the auto guy.
No, no… I’m more of a photo guy. I do autos for fun and I’m just learn to optimize them…
@MeEasy and @Dman1969 are much much better at it! They are the guys I look up to
I like the 5 gallon fabric pots for autos indoor grow. Seems to be the perfect size for the plants. Good luck
Now that Maryland allows 4 plants with Cannabis Medical Card as of July 1 I’m giving autos a try to fill allotment. April 12th /23 I planted a photo White Widow that did well by covering with a cutout milk jug on cold nights. Its 4ft now and healthy among garden plants. No more planting with vegetables,no camouflage necessary ,breaking ground for new reefer plants…BTW ,I separated the seedlings
That soil looks very wet and the seedlings are in shock. I would keep them in a shady place out of direct sunlight for a day until they pick back up and do not water them until the soil is dry. Just my 2 cents…
@kaptain3d my bad budro. Thought I read it on a post somewhere.
I’m with you on the 5gal gang. Tired 3s and 7s but came to settle on the fabric 5gal.
No problems at all
Gives me more learning experience …
I did two runs of photos then tried my luck at autos. I will say the photos are fun to train but I love trying to keep up with autos. I compare autos to fast cars. They’re fun and fast until something goes wrong mid shift
Being new to growing autos I’ll take all suggestions for a successful outside grow!
Thats what i decided. I am sticking with Photo periods. You can take your time with them and get to know them real well. Plants arent just inanimate objects that grow out of the dirt. They have personality and will grow better if you talk to them. It might sound crazy but, talking to the plants helps them. It doesn’t matter what you say to them as long as they receive the vibrations from your voice.
I play music for mine. Im a guitarist and have my amplifiers in the same room as my tent. They love it…
What is your view on growing in 3 gallon pots? I have a few 3 gallon fabric pots and i was thinking of using them my next grow. I am using 5 gallons right now.
5 gallon fabric pots is what I used when in soil. I use 3.8 gallon auto pots with coco now and won’t look back.
I’ve tried a bunch of different pots but fabric 5gal does best for me in soil. 7gal plastic pot took up to much room but helped with the water schedule. 3gal plastic pot caused me to get root bound and to much that I think caused them to hermi 3 runs ago. I haven’t had any issues with the 5gal fabs. They help prune the roots, help the plant breath with quicker dry times in between watering and I’m not skilled enough yet to fill a 5gal up with roots so I don’t worry about being root bound in these bad boys.
