I’m not too sure on that. Blue spectrum is good for veg. 20 watts sounds low but seedlings don’t need a lot of light. You’ll probably have to get it pretty close. Don’t go crazy at first. Then just adjust based on stretch. What’s the plan for the next light they go under after first couple weeks (probably all you’ll get out of the 20 watt cfl)
Oh yeah I also want to know do I keep a humidity dome over them and I also have them on a heat mat
Have a 600 watt led
Many people here suggest using humidity domes early on for seedlings. I have not had success with that method and therefore don’t dome mine. You can definitely grow healthy seedlings with or without a dome. I have some babies going right now. 12 days old. I can link you to the journal for those if you are interested in seeing how I care for mine.
Ok here are the seedlings in the pots. The one that looks like dirt it’s there. Had to get that root buried. They will be going under a 600 watt led when it’s time for tgat
On that top one did you bury the plant or is it still in the seed.
Hey like I asked any help will be very appreciated. Did you get my pics of the 4" pots
Yes, one looks empty. The other I see the plant and no tap root so that second one looks good.
The top picture I’m wondering if you buried the leaves and taproot or did you bury the taproot and seed, as in it didn’t break out of the seed yet
No I tried not to bury the leaves when I covered the taproot. But the white part has moved the dark big spot.
So the one you said that looks good do I go ahead and add some fertilizer to it?. I do have a small fan in the grow tent and on a heat mat. Fingers crossed.
You can, or you could wait ~a week for the cotelydons to yellow. I’m not familiar with your nutrients. Do you have a schedule for them that tells you how much to add for a seedling?
I have used dyna gro and just started with jacks 321. I know if I gave my plants what dyna grow schedule says to for young plants they burn like crazy. With those nutes I would give 1/4 recommended dose. With jacks I’m giving full strength to a seedling. So it varies based on what your using on how much to give. I would 1/2 or 1/4 the scheduled dose and see how she goes.
It’s the fertilizer package with Ilgm. The seedling fertilizer is half tsp per gallon of water.
Yeah I don’t have any personal knowledge of their stuff. But I would give 1/4 tsp or less and see how the plant reacts. Most nutrient lines suggest pretty aggressive feeding. It does help their bottom line if we use more of their product. It’s easier to feed heavier if the plant asks for it than it is to nurse a toxic plant back to health.
Ok I will do your recommendation on the next time of watering. Yeah when I water do I must or do I add water slow
Also have you ever used Fox Farms soil or their fertilizers?
In those little pots I would wait til they get light (dry) then water with your fertilizer, enough to get a little runoff (dripping out of the bottom).
I have not. Many Around here who have though. You could use the search function and find some people using it or talking about it
Ok thank you. Also may I ask where you are located. I’m from Tucson Arizona.
Florida.
Good morning. I am getting back to you on the fertilizer. You said 1/4 tsp or less is that to the gallon? Also when is it really classified a seedling and to like a pot plant
