@OldSkunk nice set up grow it a little different to my method but that what good about theses sites share different experiences and ideas ,
I like to maximise the square footage and scrog my take on it is any space where light gets that not being used is a waste of energy and that cost money and we should maximise everything we can get out of life

I totally understand. Iām around my fifth or sixth year of growing. But I only consider the last three or two as trying to get better and learn more about it. Basically since finding this site and then a while later joining it. Just save up your money and eventually over time youāll be able to get something you really want. Heck,ā¦ who knows within a couple years, what the technology will hold?!
Side note. One of the things I feel that really helped me the most was getting a pH meter. For years I never used one. Never even thought of it until I found this website. That alone has helped a ton. We wonāt even get into the ability to ask questions and get professional and courteous answers. Thatās invaluable and numerous thanks to this forum. Haha

I hope Iām not stepping on any toes or interfering but thereās a member on here who is a wizard at lighting, knowledge of lighting and even making your own lights. His/her name is @dbrn32 ( sorry I donāt want to presume if your male or female 
). I did not notice their name as I quickly flip through this thread. But Iām sure he or she will be more than willing to help you with lighting and questions. You should see some of the amazing things he she has builtā¦ then you should see how good @dbrn32 helps and can answer any question that people have when theyāre putting together their own do it yourself sets, if you havenāt already. He is a he lol and he just got done helping me out. When asking a question be persice about what you want. Sq. Feet, veg or flower and maybe strain. He is good and he wonāt mind iām sure.

The qbās are nice, the thing you have to watch for is imposters. Thereās at least a half dozen imposter versions coming out of China. All of them will grow weed, but some of them are definitely better than others. So you just want to be careful about checking for honest reviews and make sure youāre not getting a substandard product.
The basic setup for a 4x4 is two of the xl260 kits, so you would double that for 4x8. It should be a slight reduction in power, but most experience after a grow or two getting use to a little different style of using them that they open up a little more harvest potential. As far as a per watt basis is concerned anyway.

thanks @dbrn32 and @neckNflu itās all a little daunting to me all the info flying around on led lighting Iām just not up on all the jargon have enough on with keeping everything else all dialled in ppm, ph what and when with nutes, ECT ECT
I think because I done x amount of set ups high hps I roughly know what I need what I will get in yield.(depending on strain) and itās straight forward but the market in UK is well behind I think for led that why the info is so sketchy for us, I did get a Chinese led light which donāt stand up to what it says on the tin, ok itās great to from over plants wen they start veg phase to get used to a stronger light and gets them going nice but for final yield and quantity itās not all that ok for 1 plant tops, the hydroponic shops near me theirs are a few only 1 sells led and it very expensive Ā£1000 so it donāt way up the cost to electric expense but after looking around for a long time I have come across someone who builds and sells them and they are a quarter of the price and look to be better quality and in the new year Iām really thinking of getting 1 and giving to a try if you look down this thread you will see a link to them so any info you would be able give me on them would be great before I go in blind and buy 1

There is a guy in your side of pond running legit business with his own website and all. Search something like diyled uk. He is very active on another forum and people in your area seem to be very happy with product and service.

cheers @dbrn32 not sure if the chap I found is a fully legit business but they are the only ones that look like the ones I see people on YouTube using in America, I will look up that webpage and business you have informed me about,
I can see that technology is going towards the led setup and the yields are improving with quality in bud production from them so I going to get 1 when I find a good 1 and run a test same set up run side by side as 600 hps, same breed plant (strain) ok phenotypes can play into it but yeah give a really good idea on performance
