Germinating in soil, how wet should it be?

Hey y’all!
Starting my first “trial” grow with a mix bag of random seeds – not expecting too much since I know a lot of the seeds are old. Mainly doing it to practice while waiting for my Chocolope to arrive
I have done a 24 hr soak, and then moved the seeds (no tails, just a few slightly cracked open) to finish germinating in soil.
My question is, how damp/wet does the soil need to be right now? I have them in solo cups with domes, I sprayed the soil and the domes, but don’t know how much water should be used? I’d rather mess up on these babies than the ones I paid for!
Advice is appreciated  :peace_symbol:

A light misting to where the top of the soil is damp will be fine. Also misting the inside of the dome is perfect. Higher temps and humidity is the key.

Clear plastic cups are best for rooting new hatchlings. This will allow the roots progress to be monitored. Once it looks like a spider web…time to transplant to final home.

Keeping soil moist is critical !!! Not sopping wet! Be sure to have drainage on the cups.

Really suggest planting the seeds you really want. Planting several different “I don’t know what they are” seeds will give you confusing signals. Diff plants = diff grow rates. Diff plants = diff nute required.
Also, practice grows will take as much time as a “REAL” grow…
So why the time n effort to grow a “not real grow” ?

My 2 cents worth
