So ya know, being the ambitious little gardener I am, I’m already thinking about the next cycle while this Grape Ape finishes up.
I’m wanting to know how y’all trim inorder to end up with just the main cola and like maybe 5 smaller colas. Every time I see one like that it makes me smile. All the side stem buds are great and all, but I wanna know how to get just a few really nice colas.
I guess the obvious answer would be to just trim of side branching …
Thanks

Thats basically all there is to it really.
Search “training for colas” here or Google and you’ll find tons of videos.
I do alot of kinda “in-between” i think.
I remove alot of lowers stuff and side branches but unless i know the pheno im working with is a big stretcher in flower, i don’t train specifically for all big colas if that makes sense.
Some phenos just naturally work better then others.
Like this pheno is a good candidate for big long colas.
Or the one in middle and to the left would do good but maybe not the one on the right.

Yeah see that’s what I’m talking about !!
Makes sense about phenos ect because your right, plants have different natural characteristics. I’m sure I can figure it out, just needing a shove in the right direction.
Thanks man

@InkedOldMan Just experiment.
It helps if you have space to grow multiple plants, you can take clones for free plants and just do whatever you want and see what happens
Of course if limited to plant count or space, start slow.
If you like the way mine look with some nice colas and some little stuff. Check out simple “lollipoping cannabis” videos on YouTube.
Thats basically what I would call what I do mostly.
For advanced techniques search for “schwazze technique” videos

I shoot for about 10-20 colas all at the same height. Using Supercropping and LST.
Also trim the bottom third leaves and buds off.
Good luck!!
